Introducing!! Pinnacle black label!!!

I agree with the last few posts in that it would take a lot more than photos of a few shiny cars to get me to purchase this. The great thing about detailing as a hobby and buying from AG is getting several new items to try out for around than $100 or so. I have tried some of the higher end products most recently putting black fire black ice on my new Grand Cherokee. I had done the same with Meguiars UW on an identical vehicle to compare and for the most part I could tell the difference which leads me to believe a better way to determine what is in a product needs to be available to discerning customers.

I find the pricing of these new Pinnacle products a bit disappointing for a couple of reasons already mentioned.
1. Pricing has gotten so high for such a small amount it's obvious you are paying for branding instead of product cost.
2. I'm not sure who would spend the extra cost for a product that lasts two years as most hobbyists look forward to working on their vehicles at regular intervals. I doubt anyone in business would offer this product to customers at the price point it is at as well but that is just a guess as I'm just a hobbyist.
Blackfire Black Ice= 19.88/oz.

Pinnacle Black Lablel Paint Coating= 15.00/oz.

The Pinnacle coating is cheaper per ounce than the wax you just put on your "new Cherokee"

Ouch... hope some aloe come with that one. ;) (For the 'burn'.)

Sure, only if you promise to post pictures of the C7 you mentioned earlier.

I'm sure I will. ;)
He just bought the 2013 Viper SRT GTS in triple black. That one he wants done in the next couple of weeks.

His C7 is supposed to be here January 18th. I surely hope it's not freaking black.

OTOH his last Viper was laser red. At his house now he has a yellow Z06, dark blue GT500, a 396 Chevelle and a 71 Roadrunner 725HP that runs on 112 octane, and some other Dodge/Plymouth's that I've not even seen yet! Currently there is a 69 Z28 getting a new white/orange stripe paint job and a 71 Roadrunner getting a total rotisserie restoration in memory of his wife (that we lost a year ago 6/22 in a head on accident).

But yeah, pictures of the BL 850 on whatever I can get it on will be coming.:props:

There was no burn. I realized I couldn't edit my original post afterward but if you read closely I mean to type I couldn't tell the difference between the Blackfire Ice compared to Mequires so the gist of what I was saying it wasn't worth the extra price I paid so I wouldn't buy again which makes me hesitant to jump right in to expensive products not knowing what I am paying for which is what others before me made posts concerning.

The fact I pointed out I used both products on a "new" vehicle was simply to show they were both applied to paint in identical conditions which again could have been read into by someone paying attention. :)

I placed my BL order, but colder temps are on the way. How cold is safe to apply DP and BL coatings?

I for one am pleased to see all the coatings come forth. When coatings get as easy to apply as waxes or sealants its a game change, especially with the improvements in the looks of certain coatings.

The BLabel paint coating looks incredible. I seriously doubt topping mike's work on the lady in red could improve it.

Here's to coatings and the improvements made with the new black label series.

Above 60 degrees. For us up north that means next spring. Ouch. That is the only negative against your new b.l. producr line for us northers.

are we goin to be giveing up a little gloss when useing the bl surface coating[aio] vs the paint coating?

I noticed that the B.L. product line has no q.d. in it. Is there re one upcoming ? What is used between washes once we use the B.L. PRODUCTS ?? Thanks in advance.

Both will produce an extremely reflective, glassy finish.

Diamond Coating Shampoo is designed to maintain the coatings - it works best.

I placed an order for the diamond coat and DP prep. But man shipping charges have sky rocked since I last ordered (a while ago). $19 to ship 2 bottles almost killed it for me. But I figured I'd just sell off some products to offset this purchase, pass time to thin out my stash.

What about people like me that only do rinseless washes? I rarely ever do a traditional wash any more.

Why would you guys have three products (paint, wheel, and glass coatings) that can be all be replaced by one product in the same line (Surface coating)?? All you would need is that one product to protect everything, or am I missing something?

If you're looking for JUST a glass coating, you can pick up a bottle of Diamond Glass Coating and save a couple bucks. Same goes for paint or wheels.

For those that want to coat every exterior surface, Diamond Surface Coating is the obvious choice.

Ok thanks. I'm looking to coat my cars come spring and just wanted to make sure I was making the right choices.

Then how would that extrapolate... if you then say... want to cover the *entire* vehicle?

Not negating purpose built/designed/engineered coatings for each area and having them provide no better stand alone performance?

For instance; A total of 8 ounces in 1-glass & 1-wheel product would cost the same as a single 8 oz bottle of 'all-in-one' surface coating.

Would seem then to make the $99.99 bottle of 'all-in-one' surface coating the best deal by far. ;) And possibly negate the need for 1, 2, or all 3 of the individual products. :dunno:

Hence where the "science" of the product(s) stand alone and/or as individuals would come into play. Perhaps towards further clarification of each individual task at hand and performance built within.

I haven't done a great job of keeping up, but I did read this earlier (bolding is mine):

It will darken the material, but it's not intended to be a restorer. It will prevent fading when regularly used on plastic/leather/vinyl that's in great shape.

Durability is comparable, however I would give a slight edge to Diamond Glass Coating versus Diamond Surface Coating when used on windshields. From my testing, Diamond Glass Coating causes water to roll off the surface at speeds as low as 20 mph, where that speed is about 30 mph for Diamond Surface Coating.

I'd assume that the same is true for the surface coating vs the other specific coatings...

EDIT: BTW, Nick's quote above is post #39 of this thread

I have used Pinnacle Natural Brilliance products for a number of years and have been very pleased, so when they came up with the Black Label products, I was quite interested. I purchased the Black Label paint coating, cleaning polish, and paint sealant. I understand a carnauba wax can be used with these products, but I have a bigger problem. I recently bought Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection and Total Polish and Seal as well as the carnauba wax. Is there a way I can make use of the Blackfire products in combination with Black Label. For example, I had in mind using the Black Label products one time and several months later using the Blackfire products. Since I just purchased the Blackfire products a few months ago, I would like to come up with a plan where I might use them as well as the Black Label products, otherwise, I have gone "overboard."

Also, I have the DP Foam Gun with 128 oz. of soap. Can this product work with the Black Label products?
