Where to buy opti coat pro????!

I'm not sell it as pro just as normal the reason I buy from my friend is cause I can get more for a better price.

Doesn't matter. It is in the OC Pro contract that it is against the rules to sell to a third party.

Wow! your one of them huh and why would I give you my friends name so you can be like a 12 year old school kid and go tell. You can give Opti-coat my business name if you want and be an ass I don't care.

You might want to slow your roll there buddy.

If you look at a previous post I was nicely trying to point out you shouldn't be posting this kind of info out there as it can effect you and your buddy negatively...

RSurfer....prove him wrong...let's see some before & afters

I have always enjoyed Pureshine's work

Let's see a "Polish Off"!

i am a business....3 years and .....don't have tax id number...im a dba with no employees...hope that works

OPT limits the sale of its pro line to professionals for a reason. And it is in the paperwork that it cannot be resold...and only installed by the approved dealer.

You can apply with OPT directly, or me...I'm a pro line distributor and there's only one other in the U.S. I'll have to issue a warning to installers in Seattle because of this thread.

As long as you meet their insurance requirements you're fine... I also have no tax ID since I have no employees and I was able to be approved for OPT pro products in about a day.

Where on earth does he get it from?!? Oc pro costs almost $200 for 40cc, oc 2.0 is only $70 for 20cc.

I was told that the only difference was "the sticker / the certificate, which means you have to provide the warranty". And that was by the distributor. Of course the price is a difference, but that was the reason(s) given.

Is Opti-Coat Pro that difficult to apply or is it a Warranty issue?

Warranty

I could care les how much he is paying.

So an "authorized" installer is selling it to a 3rd party. I had to drop OC pro until I get the insurance amount required which will hopefully be spring. I thought it was against the contract to sell to unapproved installers. This is a problem IMO...

You and me both, the insurance requirement was one thing but I think the real thing that OPT is concerned about (as was stated) is your business' stability. Having "insurance" I suppose lends an air of 'well this guy is serious enough to buy insurance so he's a good risk'.

You should have a tax number, they give them to anyone.

Yep, saw this one coming! ;) :dblthumb2:

You should have a Tax ID Zach. They can be applied for online.
There are tax payer ID's tied to your SS# as a sole proprietor for tax filing purposes. Then there are reseller ID's that are tied to whether or not you pay sales tax, and/or report sales tax. The two are totally separate numbers.
.
Either can be used to open a commercial bank account for instance, even without a business license. This time around we decided to file the tax return under my wifes SS# and don't really need the tax payer ID, but I have the Reseller ID number.

As far as I understand it, Opti-guard flashes faster making it a bit harder to apply and comes with a warranty. If it's sold without the warranty and not advertised as opti-guard, what is the issue?

if you're not an authorized installer and have the product, it compromises and undermines the entire program. there is a great deal of integrity in Optimum's and Cquartz professional applicator's programs, and without the integrity of the installers, these companies, and all the authorized installers will suffer greatly.

as an authorized installer myself, it does bother me to hear that another authorized installer made the product available to someone, regardless of how talented they are. but i will commend purshine for admitting in a very followed and public forum that he is getting it from another installer (no matter how foolish that was to admit). i think I'm less bothered by the fact that Purshine admitted to getting the product from an authorized dealer than i am with someone asking what "the issue" is.

I have talked to Chris about this issue already.

Agree. Who cares? Pureshine has nothing to do with Optimum and he isn't hurting anyone. The guy who is selling it to him may not be making the best decision though.

Pureshine isn't marketing it as the pro product, and isn't duping anyone with a false warranty. He also isn't pretending to be an authorized installer. He simply shared how he was keeping costs in check by purchasing a product he uses as OC 2.0 at a lesser cost. Sounds like good business sense to me.

Agreed.

Of course the best thing would be for Pureshine to simply apply to be authorized and sell it as a Pro-Guard, he will be making more money on it that way anyhow.

With OC Pro there is a warrantied and non warrantied version. The warranty version is a single use 10cc syringe that comes with the warranty registration papers.

The non warranty is a 40cc bulk syringe.

The pro coat is thicker, and flashes much faster. It is considerably less user friendly than 2.0. It is incredibly easy to install and have issues with compared to 2.0 if you are not careful.

There are minimum prices you can charge for both the warrantied and non warrantied version. This is yet another reason why Optimum does not want non authorized installers selling. Integrity of the installation process and price control.

Thought I would clear some confusion here.
