Ceriglass and Flex 3401

Been reading alot about this stuff and seems it works wonders. Paired up with the Rayon pads would I be able to use them with my LC backing plate 4"? Also does anyone have pictures of it removing waterspots? All the pictures I have seen are only scratches. But I would imagine it would remove waterspots faster then scratches.

The CeriGlass Rayon Pads come in 5" and 3".

Not sure if a 4" backing plate would work as well as a cut down 5 1/2" backing plate.

The one pictured below was sanded down to accommodate 5 1/2" Lake Country CCS Pads

I ordered the other day. I plan on using my Porter Cable 7424 with the 3" pads so that I can get into the corners better. I hope it has enough power.

I've tried it and it works. The 4" backing plate leaves a portion of that pad unsupported, so it does reduce your efficiency. However, the combo can and will get the job done.

What speed and pressure did you use with the flex? Also I always wondered how people got in the corners???

This page shows what to expect from using CeriGlass to remove etched hard water spots from glass. It doesn't take nearly as long to remove water spots as it does to level scratches in glass.

I haven't tried the glass pads with the Flex yet but they work great on a rotary or a PC style DA tool. For the corners you definitely want the smaller 3" pads. I like to use a rotary for the edges and corners.

I was just reading thru your thread earlier and thats some stellar work. I only have a flex right now but not I'm thinking I have to buy a GG Da for glass now.
I was also looking at this one: Griots Garage 3 Inch Orbital Polisher, 3 Inch Polisher, 3 inch Dual Action Polisher, 3" buffer
Or maybe just the full size one.

I would definitely try the glass pads with your Flex before you buy another polisher. I have a Flex.. I just haven't ever used it to polish glass yet. I'm thinking it would feel similar to using thin MF pads. Some people say it tends to "walk" when using thinner pads so that's the only draw back I could see from that style of tool. Other than that it has everything you want: forced rotation, controllable speed, soft starting.

If walking is an issue with the Flex and the Glass pads CeriGlass also works very well with foam pads to remove water spots. You really only NEED the dedicated rayon pads if you are trying to level scratches in glass. Otherwise foam pads work great for just water spots.

Great, I have each hybrid color so I'll try those and put in an order for the glass pads too. The cars I'll be working on first(family) aren't really bad with scratches, but the waterspots are pretty bad due to living in Hawaii. Now I just got to wait for an Autogeek sale! Im the MAN
