Hey Everyone,

Had the pleasure of getting this ready for its buyer this morning. Came in late last night off the truck. The buyer was very anxious to take delivery so I was kind of in a hurry and didn't get a lot of before pictures. Ill be doing one or two more next week. One is a "premier edition" in blue and the other is blacked out. Ill do a much more thorough write up on those as they aren't sold units.

HEADS UP- I thought I would let everyone know what I found out last night. GM has posted a bulletin for all the dealers that these cars are being delivered mild to severely scratched. CAUSE_ After these are made in Kentucky they are sitting for some time before the trucks get to them. (These do not go on the railroad, they come straight from factory, straight to the dealership. No middle man.) Anyways before they are loaded they are wrap with a car cover. You know where this is going lol. So they are being wrapped with dust, dirt ect on the paint. After be driven for who know how many miles with the wind slapping the cover. Its causing the dirt to rub in the paint causing some pretty good heavily scratched areas. The bulletin says the major problem areas are the headlights (see pic below), roof, and rear hatch. Although when I was going through it. It was also on the top of the fenders, edge of the hood near the windshield, A pillars badly (its black acrylic), on the edges on the rear quarter panels, and the rear hatch glass. Thought I give everyone a heads up if they come across this or you get a new Vette with heavy swirls from the dealer trying to remove them.

Anyways onto the good stuff-
Process

-Wash 2BM with P&S Citrus Wash
-Wheels were cleaned with Sonux wheel cleaner and Daytona
-Clayed (although didn't seem needed, just to be safe) Blue, Blue magic
-Dried with master blaster/guzzler

Correction-
-All the problems area above were fixed with Menzerna SIP on 4" orange CCS pads w/ Makita rotary
-Then went over with Menzerna 85RD with 4"/6.5" white CCS pads on PCXP and Rupes21
-Topped w/ Sonicwax Carnaubavore (first time using this. Absolutely love this stuff, goes on and off very easy, leaves the paint incredibly smooth and amazing gloss. smells vantastic. really made the metallic pop on the paint trim areas as well as the silver)
-Exhaust tips were hit with Menzerna metal polish
-Glass was treated with aquapel, buyer request
-Wheels were not treated with any protectant, buyer request
-Tires treated P&S wipe and shine

Interior was a simple wipe down, buyer did not want anything on it

Scratched Headlight

All done in the shop

Thanks for looking! Of course all questions/comments are welcomed

Trevor

Looks great. Nice job.

I hate those car covers. Audis, Porsches, and German built VWs come with them and if the car isn't already scratched up underneath them, they are somewhat difficult to take off without the plastic clips holding them onto the car dragging against the paint.

What a gorgeous car! I am in love!:wow:

Silver looks VERY sleek on the C7, love those wheels, haven't seen those yet, nice stockers! Can't wait till someone paints the rear diffusor body color!!

What a great shine you gave to this beautiful car.
I can only dream of owning one:(

Last week I was on the side on one at a light, I fell in love with the new look.
I honked at the driver and gave him a thumbs up, he smiled, yeah he new he was driving a very special car.

Great job!
I can't imagine why the owner was anxious to take it home! LOL.

Thank You. It was kind of a pain to remove the cover, especially sense the owner wanted to keep it. Ended up rolling up the sides, tucked in the plastic clips then rolled back to front. Seem to work pretty well.

GM def knocked it out with this car!

I'm not much of a fan of silver but on the C7, it just looks right. Although i'm very anxious to do the blue one. I was thinking about the same thing about rear diffuser. How it will look painted to match. I do like how its a metallic black and not just black. Gives it a little more pop.

Thank you, credit is due to Sonicwax for that shine. I was very impressed on how it made that silver look. I'm right there with you, maybe someday we'll get one :props:

beautiful ....
Very!

Great job!

I was there when he took delivery, pretty funny watching him jump up and down, although I would do the sameIm the MAN

i noticed you did not seal the new paint, just a fine waxing. any reason why you don't first apply a paint sealer?
i am no expert, so please don't take offence at the question.

No offense taken, no worries. This is going into the customers collection. This thing wont see any harsh elements let alone the sun very much. So i wasn't worried about the longevity of the protection. Cure time was also a another factor, I only had 5 hours with it. I like sealant to cure for about 12 hours before I top it. I could of used just a sealant but the owner wanted a "warm glow" to it, which carnauba does very well. I'll be maintaining this and a few of his other cars, so if need be in the future, I can do it then. I also just really wanted to use my new Carnaubavore wax:props:

thx!.
can't wait for your details on the detailing of the laguna blue vette. that's to be my color when it arrives.
i have some blackfire wet diamond paint protector and their sun ivory carnuaba wax as a topper. looks good on my work-a-day white dodge van.
do you think this is a good combo for the new paint on the new vette? garage kept. it does get service even in the northeast winters.
suggestions welcomed as i plan on keeping this car for awhile.
i appreciate your time and expertise.

These keep popping up and they give me a tingle every time. I LOVE my CTS-V, and I've loathed every Vette I've owned, but I don't know how long I can hold out before I buy one of these. That silver looks AMAZING.

Amazing work and great wax selection. I can't stop opening my Carnaubavore to smell it LOL!
