How does uber compound compare to menzerna fg400?

I have used uber compound and it is the absolute best poishing compound I have ever used. I have not tried fg 400 but it is my understanding they are similar. I would like to buy a gal of either product when the holiday sales are going and usually the menzerna can be bough for less. Does anyone have a lot of experience with both that could give me some input. I would also be willing to trade an 8 oz bottle of uber if someone has fg400. I don't want to buy a gal of fg400 and wish I had spent the extra for uber. Things that are important to me are ease of use and wipe off. The cut has to be good and finish down nice with minimal marring.

I have never used uber compound. I use FG400 weekly and its my go for 1 steps. It finish done really nice with no marring and wipes off really easy. It has not dusting really at all unless you use to much product.

thanks for your input. I wonder if they are the same. I thought I read menzerna makes uber compound.

They may be closely related but shouldn't be the same.

Menzerna is the producer of the Wolfgang line of polishes but they are made to Autogeeks specs.
 
I haven't used FG400, but my gut tells me Uber likely has a bit more work time and may be a bit more user friendly (wipe off?), as it's designed for the enthusiast. However, I'm sure you won't go wrong with either. If I had to get a gallon of one now, I would get Uber. As even if Uber is based on FG400, my gut tells me AG improved on it and tweaked it.

That is what I was thinking also.
 
IMO. Uber has a longer work time, and wipes off easier. They both finish nicely, maybe slight edge to Uber because it really finished nicely on the soft paint of a car I just tested it on.
 
I used both Wolfgang Uber and FG400 this weekend on a black 2010 Mercedes E550.

Paired with a FLEX 3401 and Lake Country Orange CCS Pad.

I found they were very similar

- WGU seems to cut the same as FG400

- Both are low dusting, unless you use too much product

- WGU seems to have a longer working time than FG400

- WGU was more difficult to buff completely off than FG400, because of the extra oiliness.

- Both finish the same for me. If using an Orange pad; they both need to be followed by a polishing step on dark paints.

I prefer Menzerna FG400 due to it being quicker to buff off. I don't need the longer working time...the FLEX seems to break the DAT polishes down very effectively in four to five passes for me.
 
Looking for a vehicle that needs a one-step so I can try Menzerna Super Intensive SI1500 vs Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover.

Supposedly, they are also almost identical

Yes I bought some a while back and they are very close in my opinion. I would buy which ever one has the best price in the future.
 
I have both and I find them to be almost identical to each other. Both work the same, dust about the same, smell same, look same finish about the same.
 
Uber has a longer working time ? thats insane as FG400 never seems to break down or dry up.
 
I have both, use both and equally like them.

Both products are really likely, if you change bottles I doubt I would be able to say which one I'm using.

I can't say if they are exactly the same product, but if there's a difference, I'm yet to find. I can 'risk to say' Uber seems a bit more oily, but maybe that's because of other variables while I was using, like pad, technique, climate, etc...

I see myself ordering more FG400 for re-stock than Uber, maybe because the price, but I've sympathized with FG400 (apart from it's smell :( but it's exactly the same of Uber ).

Suggestion for Menzerna chemistry group: add a 'Pinnacle (or other fruit) scent and smell' (no pun intended).


But the results achieved (consistent everytime) worth the smell.
