Rupes Knock Off

The cool thing about America is if you don't want something, you don't have to buy it. Well except for health insurance.

Well except for health insurance.
Another cool American prerogative:

With my annual income being below the mandatory tax filing threshold...
It'll be cheaper for me to take the income taxed penalties (phased in @: 1; 2; 2.5%)...
than to ever be coerced into having to buy health care insurance!

Notice the MShine on the body of my GG6. Does this mean the same maker of Rupes knock off?

You are correct as I noted earlier in the thread. They make polishers for many different companies. Once of the reasons it is funny to me that people will bash a Chinese copy when the Griots many so dearly love is the same thing.

Don't many people love the GG machines? So whats wrong with the Chinese Rupes?
Wishy washy...Feed back please

Spoke with a rep a few months ago, they would only sell if you bought in bulk; but plan to email me when they start selling single units.

I wouldn't think they are selling much but who knows, could Rupes eventually contract out?

I belive the quote for 50 or more would have broken down to like 175 for the knock off of the 21mm. Who knows, but for that price for a single unit I wouldn't mind grabbing one

Not a bad price. Gotta find 50 people now! Lol

I have one of the Ansi Auto Rupes knockoffs. And I have indeed attached a Rupes 5" backing plate to it and use Rupes pads. Everything works fine after a little bit of tweaking. Its not exactly easy to do as I did have to open up the rupes backing plate mounting hole on the back a few hundreths of an inch on the arched portions to allow the machines spindle to drop in. I also had to use the washer mod (which Kevin Brown recommends for the Rupes polishers anyways) in order to clear the phillip head screws attaching the counterweight.

I have this YouTube video with details of the machine when I got it and a demonstration of the speeds. I've only used it on mine and family vehicles but it works great. Very little vibration at all when compared to a porter cable or harbor freight dual action polisher. Polishing and correcting with this is way faster than using the porter cable and HF dual actions by a mile.

Also, you can see these same machines on racks in some of chemical guys videos. I thought CG were going to sell them after seeing someone in their smart detailing university using one and seeing them in their videos on racks.
