Just wondering if there are any videos using light colored vehicles?

It might be that 11Frontier is referring to the difficulty of seeing light/fine scratches on light colors, and they're even harder to see once you've partially corrected them.

That's about the only special consideration I can think of where light paint color comes into play.

If anyone ever developed a "magic" swirl finder light for light colors, where the color spectrum of the light and/or the focus/defocus of the beam and the intensity were dialed in to make scratches pop on light colors, and patented it, they'd make a killing.

Either that, or some sort of non-permanent dark dye that you wipe on / wipe off but it stays in the valleys of the scratches so you can watch the dye disappear as you polish the scratches out of your light-colored paint.

I think what 11Frontier means is that anytime someone wants to demonstrate either their ability or the ability of a product, the vehicle being used is a dark color vehicle.

Understandably so since these dark vehicles give the greatest opportunity to showcase the before and after conditions of the paint.

In the real world, not every vehicle is dark colored, as I myself own a white vehicle and a silver one.

That being said, I realize that my before and afters will not have the visual appeal of a dark vehicle, but what works for darker colored vehicles can be applied to any vehicle.

Bottom line, I think that 11Frontier would like to see a demonstration on something other than a dark colored vehicle.

Can't speak for 11Frontier, but I also assumed this was what he was after from reading his post. I think you put it more eloquently, Ezmoney.

I would definitely like to see a demonstration on a white vehicle.

Thanks for the reply's.
EZMoney, could not have said it better - thanks.

I can not see any swirls on either of my silver vehicles and so far I can not get any depth out of my paint. Not even sure if I will on silver paint? Just would like to see someone do a detail on a silver paint job to show the same things that are shown on a dark color. It's frustrating when working with a silver vehicle and I don't see what most of the videos show. I am under the impression that my paint job is great because I can't see all the inperfections.

White and Silver are difficult...

But they will show in the correct lightning.

These are White, and that's even worse than Silver.

If you are going to be in Raleigh let me know and I can meet you and look at it if you want.

Look in direct sunlight. You'll no doubt spot some swirls if they're there.

IF? My impression from all the articles and videos is that every paint job has them. I've tried sunlight and multiple lights, I will be breaking out the hi wattage work light tonight.

@ JAnkerson I will be in and out of Raleigh all weekend. I don't see anything wrong with your paint job either.

Maybe I just dont have an eye for it?

Silver is hard to see the swirls as is White, really can't look at them in direct sun because it will blind you.

Best to use a work light or flashlight (LED) and they will show up, show up better with an LED if they are there.
