Hello all,

Well I am working at a body shop and I have to be wet sanding, and buffing out repainted vehicles using a Rotary, wool pad and 3M compound and ultra fine polish daily.

While I could compliment it using my Rupes and have even better results. I do not have the time to be getting such great results. This is production style detailing might I add. So the cars were painted the day before and need to be out the next day.

I usually sand with 1,000, 1,500 and 3,000. With dirts being my main concern. The painters orange peel finishes are actually really good.

The stock paint finishes are say around 4.8 Mils and the repainted surfaces are around 6.5+ mils.

So my question is, what are good practices using a Rotary, 3M wool pad, 3M polishing pad and 3M compound and ultra fine polish.

I can get great results on most paints but Jet Black paints are always a burden. There is a jet black Dodge R/T coming up and I am actually excited to work on it.

Hello KJN: I've actually had to put a halt to my video creations, because of school and work.

Different ideas are always popping in my head however. I'd like to add that these are not how to videos or promotional videos. I do these just for fun.

My steps were 500,800,1,000,1500,3000
IPA wipe down
Then opti lens.

Since you're sanding all the way down to 3000, can you convince them to switch to a foam pad?

Nice!:xyxthumbs:
