Last weekend we attended the annual Festivals of Speed car show in Orlando. We set up a booth and demonstrated various products, including FLEX polishers and Wolfgang polishing compounds.
This show hosted some of the most exotic vehicles in the world, including the vaunted Pagani Huayra (Why-Ruh); Lamborghinis and Ferraris were as common as Camrys and Accords in the parking lot at Publix. Right in front of our tent was a heavily modified Bentley Continental GT. As a car guy, I was in heaven the entire time. Meghan had to repeatedly say "Nick....Nick.....NICK!" to snap me back to reality. After all, I was there to work, not day dream. I'm pretty sure my heart stopped for a solid 10 seconds when a brand-new Aston Martin Vanquish crept by, with its V12 emitting a muscular burble. Unreal.
While we had a ton of different products on display, the plethora of carnauba waxes drew the most attention, especially Pinnacle's limited-edition holiday wax, aptly named White Christmas Wax. People were drawn to sight of a Pinnacle wax that they'd never seen before, so I demonstrated how effortless the wax is to apply and remove. After damp-sanding our test hood and polishing it to a flawless finish using Wolfgang Uber Compound and Finishing Glaze on a FLEX XC3401, I hand-applied a coat (or two) of the wax using a Gold Wax Finger Pocket.
I managed to capture the all-important beading picture for all you 'nuba fanatics out there.
I'm looking forward to attending the show again next year as a representative of Autogeek, or as a nutty automotive enthusiast.
