Hey fellow Geeks,

Here is another C7 I did yesterday. This wasn't a sold unit, just a get ready detail for the showroom. The overall condition was pretty good, a few RIDS, like marring and few problems areas mentioned in my other C7 post. I didn't get any before pictures, I had 4 hours to get her all done due to a potential buyer coming to look at it. So I was kind of in a hurry. Just topped it with Wax. When these are sold, I have agreement with the dealer to come back and do complete sealant packages for the customers. The dealer is picking up the bill.

Process-

2 bucket method with ONR
Clayed with Blue, Blue magic
Wheel/ Wheel barrels/Fender wells clean with P&S Enviro Clean

3M Extra Cut on RIDS and problems areas with Makita Rotary/ 3" light cut wool pad
Menzerna 106 over the same areas with Makita/ 3" white polishing pad
3M Ultrafina over the entire car with Rupes 21 w/ 5" backing plate W/ LC 5.5" Flat gray finishing pad
Topped with DP Max Wax (love this on Metallic colors for obvious reasons)
Windows were cleaned with Stoners Invisible Glass
Tires were treated with P&S Wipe and Shine (I just put it on before in the pictures, it will matte out after it dries and not be so "shiny")
Exhaust tips and wheels were polished with Zephyr Metal Polish

On to the good stuff-

Sun Shots

Max Wax doing its thing

Ill be doing these two next week sometime and a white one.

Thanks, Trevor

Very nice work. Was the clear on these as difficult to correct as previous years?

Blue Vette and blue skies. Love the hood and Stingray on the side fender. Hoods reminds me of the high horsepower engines in the early Stingrays, 1968-73.

Thank You! Yes, I would say its the same as previous years. It took me about 3 different compounds/pad combos before I got the results I was looking for on the RIDS.

Early Stingrays are 1963 and 64's, not 68's, just sayin'.

What is the Premier Edition? Also, what's the deal with the black strip on the hood, I like it, is it factory? Also that color is really, really, really stunning! I like the wheel style but not the bling, chrome is so OLD!

The Premiere Edition is a limited production they'll be doing on some C7's. They're doing 500 in the coupes and 50 in the convertibles. Far as the difference from the standard C7's it is very minimal, mainly interior. They all come standard with the Z51 and performance exhaust packages. The center caps on the wheels are different, different door sill plates. As you noticed, they did a matching vinyl "stinger strip" down the hood. It only comes in Laguna Blue in the coupe and Lime Rock Green in the convertibles. As for the interior, they did a two tone with black leather and brown faux suede with exposed carbon fiber trim package. It also includes a Corvette logo luggage package designed by Thule.
I agree with you, I do not care for the chrome on the wheels. Now, if they were black :props:

Thanks man, appreciate it!

Beautiful cars! Looks like you're having fun. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, its a nice break from trashed mini vans and suburbans, enjoying every minute of it!

Thanks Mopar, great info but we differ on the wheel color for sure, I'll take that chrome over black if I only had 2 choices. Anthrasite or silver would look much better IMO but to each their own, atleast a semi-gloss black but not shiny black, looks cheap and is a bear to maintain and look like hell when all brake dust coated for sure!

Oh yeah Mopar, thanks for saying that about the Lime Rock green one, goggled that color and went on and on looking at the pics, I LOVE GREEN ON CORVETTES! My favorite Corvette ever is a 67' Goodwood green w/ white stinger stripe. If I had the money, I'd buy a Lime Rock green C7, add a white stinger, opt for the Z51, scrap the black wheels and find something else for it, maybe a modern Torque Thrust, this way I'd have something to match my 67'.....PLEASE, DON'T PINCH ME, LOL!

Wow those sit high from the factory. Looks like it is ready to go off-roading.

Sure it would look better about an inch lower but keep in mind where a lot of these cars will be driven, not to mention the demographic who buy them, lowering the car more would make it even harder for them to lower themselves into the car and getting out of an even lower Corvette would neccesitate the use of a small crane.
