Griots, Flex, Rupes DA clone

Lol the only thing worse than that guy's hair is his technique.

Yeah he should be the poster child for how not to use a da polisher and not to cut your own hair!

You gotta love the bucket and cord and machine on the hood too, what a hack!

The video shows some signs of professionalism. Photography was in focus with some panning and well lit. It looks like they had fill light to give a uniform look.

^Is it just me or did that guys hands look like he was struggling to keep control of tha machine.

I see what you mean..it seems to dart as if he was using uneven pressure but had to tell. He did use a small work area.

Looks like a lot of vibration. In the slow motion part, you could see his right hand thumb bounce up and down.

Is the new Meguiars basically a rebrand of this as well but built to their specs? I don't think they mentioned anything about who actually makes their tool beyond its made in China but supposedly is an American tool presence. I also guess I'm one of the few who likes the smaller porter cable design for a DA. Maybe it's because I'm so used to using those tools, but I don't know. I think Griots will probably rebrand the same and use this design for their next polisher as well.

This looks like the MaxShine unit -- has the most promise IMO as they also make the GG6--wish someone here in the US would start selling it---

"The DAS-6 PRO+, exclusive to CleanYourCar is the latest innovation in machine polishing. The DAS-6 PRO Plus is a 15mm large throw random orbital car polisher. Using the same 880w motor found in the regular DAS-6 PRO, it's been packed into a whole new body and with a ultra smooth 15mm random orbit we believe this is the best dual action car polisher on the market."

the new megs unit was designed and built from scratch, with the help of the tool company who makes them...

Yes believe the Meg's is a complete redesign, it fits a very cool niche with the design. Ie. mid "semipro" enthusiast looking for something better than a DA without the weakness of a basic orbital or too much power of a forced/big throw DA

interesting.. 800watt motor - 1800-7000 OPM

I'm not sure how these new DAs are in the vibration category, but since I bought a Flex and both Rupes, my PC will sit, alone, due to too much vibration.
Anyone, who wants to make multiple purchases of redesigned 8mm throw DAs, just might want to consider a Rupes or a Flex.

Came across this older thread and thought I'd add this recent email I received from Maxshine. I think Maxshine China OEM's for many...

"Yes, you can see our DA polisher in USA.
Shurhold and Griot't Garage distribute our Dual action polisher. The Das6 and DAS 6 pro all made in our factory. We OEM for many world famous companies."

MaxShine does make the Griots 6, but haven't seen any of the new MaxShine 21mm throw units here in the US.

You'll get no disagreement from me on your points. In fact I plan on calling them out as liars on their YouTube page.

Realize this is an old thread, but ... Would like to know more. I own their EVO21 and had a minor problem with the backing plate. Rich Light paid for the shipping and sent me a new machine in return. No questions asked really.

How do you like the EVO21? Is it smooth? I wonder if the ZENTOOL21 and the EVO21 are the same.
