Hey all, I've been looking around and been wondering what kind of polisher to get. I can't decide. What's the best one out there?

Thanks!:xyxthumbs:

What are you looking to accomplish?

Do you have a budget or how much would you want to spend?

Rupes 21 / Flex 3401 / G110v2 / GG6" / GG3", one of each, and you'll be fine.

;)

Please, you should describe better what are your intentions, and if you have the $$.

Just to advance, if you have the $$, you'll have to decide between the FLEX and Rupes, and there are tons of topics regarding this subject on this forum (do a search). They will help to make you even more confuse!

Then we return to the first part of my answer:
Rupes 21 / Flex 3401 / G110v2 / GG6" / GG3"

1 of each...

And you'll be fine!

Hope to hear more from you,

Kind Regards.

Thanks! I've heard of those and I'm gonna look into them. And yeah yall will hear more when the weather starts to warm up and I can work outside lol

if you want a great DA that's not too expensive with a good warranty then get the GG6. with the pads (get 5.5" flat pads) and polishes/compounds available today there isn't really much you can't tackle. not to mention it's versatile so that you can swap out backing plates and use 4"-5.5" pads. IMO everyone should own at least one traditional style DA...

Rupes 15 and you'll be good to go.

Would any (no disrespect) do when buying a 5" backing plate for the GG 6" Random O-P such as the Lake Country Rotary Hook & Loop 5" Backing Plate? If so, any suggestions?

My first polisher was a Porter Cable. I really liked it and used it for several years. I opened a part time detailing shop and invested in a Flex, thinking that there might not be much difference except the price. Boy was I wrong. I have never tried the Rupe, but the Flex in my opinion is the Cadillac of the polishers. If money were no object a Flex it would be. The Porter Cable is great but is limited in correction ability compared to the Flex. I still use the Porter Cable, mostly for polishing and waxing and the Flex for everything else. The Flex is great at polishing and waxing also. Just my opinion. You will get several opinions on this one I'm sure.

Hello. I've read these kinda comments about using the PC for polishing and waxing, but the Flex for correcting. Why not use the Flex for polishing and waxing though?

I'm at the stage where I want to upgrade to the Flex 3401 from my PCXP, but plan on doing more polishing than correcting as long as I can keep the paint is good condition since I've corrected it already.

Thanks,
Michael

I've used my Flex for correcting, polishing and waxing. Hands down night and day difference in comparison to PC. When waxing by machine, keep is mind Flex is heavy. Gonna get a mini GG for applying waxes...
