I have a 2013 black ram sport truck with the usual minor swirls. Can DG 501 remove these using a GG6 with a LC flat white polishing pad? I was going towards the Optimum GPS route but for durability and clean I'd like to go with 501/601 if it can correct as well. Thank's.

While DG501 does have abrasives in it, you won't see correction out of it.

DG501 is a very good paint cleaner.

Use your GPS for correction then use the 501 and your white pad and you'll be amazed at what you drag out the paint.

501 + white pad does zero for me correction-wise. I use it every year mainly as a paint cleaner. Makes my pearl white sparkle like nobody's business.

Thank's, I guess I'll decide with the Optimum GPS spray OR Meguiars D151

How would you sum up the difference between a paint cleaner and something that cuts?

And I bet the white pad looks pretty grimy & dingy when you're done. IMHO, 501 is an
excellent paint cleaner.

DG 501 won't correct, but like everyone else said it cleans exceptionally well. Here's a picture from a Tahoe I did last week. Car was washed and clayed and then went over it with 501/601.
The pad was white before I started..

Another amazing paint cleaner is the DP prep polish.

When you use 501/601 combo are they mixed together or are both applied on the pad together?

I can't wait to try it. How did you clean that pad?

I mix mine in the little bottle that's in my hand in the picture. I think it only took around a half ounce to do the entire vehicle. It spreads good.

I let the pad soak in my wash bucket when I'm done and then massage what I can out with my fingers. Then hit it with mineral spirits and push all of the gunk out with my fingers. That step takes almost everything out. Finally, I use some dawn dish soap to get out the remaining mineral spirits and then rinse really good. Pads come out looking great and for cheap too.

Ok I have some 501 and I'm looking to use it- I see everyone saying its a great cleaner- but I need a bit of correction. would I use it before polish or after polish???

Thanks for any help
