Car lift

Yes. I have a 4 post lift. It makes the job much easier. I put the lift in to maintain my vehicles mechanically, but it is great for detailing.
 
Not yet, but one will be going into my new garage. The one you show in the example is nice, but unfortunately, it doesn't have enough capacity. Although I don't necessarily need it to get to rocker panels on trucks, I will also want to use it for maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations and my duramax weighs over 7,000 lbs. Something to think about if you want to lift these 3/4 and 1 ton diesel trucks.

Expect between $1000-2000 depending on model and pump and what not

Another thing about lifts, really measure how tall the car is, suspension travel, and availed ceiling height before buying. If you have an 8' ceiling (followed by a door lift) and get a lifted truck in, you will not get it off the ground!

A lifted truck? Probably wouldn't have to raise it then!


But, of course: Always measure...at least twice.

Most Bendpacks I've found are listed for around $2,500 for a full size one. That is for 10k lbs though, the 7k lbs are a bit less.

I am really liking the Danmar MaxJax ($2000) right now for the lower posts and ability to be moved out of the way when not needed.

However, if my new garage permits a 4 post would be my #1 choice.

I don't want a lift with posts (see original link). It just needs to lift the car off the ground enough so I don't have to sit on the floor to detail the lower panels, etc. Its not for doing mechanical work on the vehicle.

For wheels off and coating. I do it to almost every vehicle I get these days. Oil City AB, almost every truck is lifted too!
