After 3 snowstorms and single digit temperatures over the last 3 weeks, my wife's avalon was looking pretty nasty and had become completely covered in sand, salt, road grime, and other wonderful winter contaminants. Today we were lucky enough to have temps in the low 40's so I decided to break out my el cheapo lowes pressure washer (too lazy to set up my gas PW!) foam cannon, and CG wash clear to see how clean I could get the car with a touchless wash.

The car was washed, clayed, and coated with WDGPS last August (almost 5 months ago). With the protection being 5 months old, I figured the CG wash clear had its work cut out for it!

Here are a couple of pictures of the car covered in about a months worth winter crud.

I added 3oz of CG wash clear to the foam cannon reservoir and then filled with hot water. Hooked up the foam cannon to my trusty el cheapo 1700psi Lowes PW and started the foam soak. (Car was foamed twice and left to dwell for 5 minutes for each soaking)

After a double soak, pressure rinse, and open end hose flood rinse, I was very impressed with how clean the car turned out without having touched the paint with a wash mitt! The paint and glass were once again hydrophobic, and the wheels and tires were pretty darn clean! CG wash clear is great for a touchless winter wash!

So you didn't dry it? Feed back please. :buffing:

No, I have a water softener system installed in my house so I don't ever get water spots if I'm too lazy to dry! Lol! That and the fact that I also wanted to do a touchless wash on my truck and it was getting dark! Lol!

Wow im gunna have to give this a try. To bad my pressure washer is winterized in the shed.... maybe ill hand pump in on with a pressure sprayer and hose it off and coin wash. Thanks

Where did you find this stuff? I checked here and cg's site. Whats the exact name? Thanks

Wow I'm impressed! Looks real good for a touchless wash.

I'm just happy 70-80% of the crud is off! It isn't a very intensive wash and I'm sure there will still be a thin film of dirt once the car dries but considering the filth that was on it and the limited time I had to do it, I'm quite happy with the results. Did my truck as well and only took 35 minutes combined.

Great writeup Just and I'm quite jealous of your soft water system! Could you elaborate on the water softening setup that you have?

Citrus wash & clear is a great soap, here is a chemical guys parody video I filmed using that soap

Seems we have a similar PW as well

To be completely honest, I don't know much about the softener system. It was installed by and is serviced by a local company called rain soft. They come to recharge roughly once a month. Clothes fresh from the dryer smell better and are so much softer than before!

Very nice! Random question: how do those new Avalons drive?

The base, premium, limited, and hybrid models ride beautifully! We opted for the Touring edition which rides a bit stiffer on bumpy back roads due to the bigger wheels and low profile tires. Just a bit bumpier but much more responsive. On the highway is where the car really shines! Horsepower is great as well. In sport mode the traction control fights wheel spin all the way up to 30mph from a dead stop. Acoustic glass makes the cabin really quiet! Gas mileage in Eco mode is around 28mpg if I stay out of the pedal.

I just ordered me some.. Is this new have not see it before

Not sure how longs it's been out, but it's definitely not new. It's a hybrid version of CG Citrus wash that can be used either as a maintenance wash or at a stronger dilution ratio for prep-washing before correcting or applying new LSP.

Thanks I only got a little bottle to try to see if I like I'm sure I'll be getting a gallon soon but I really don't need any more soap. Think I got over 3 gallons of soap and I only wash 2 cars and some times on the side but thanks again can't pass up the results you got..

If you use it to hand wash, I would recommend wearing some latex or nitrile gloves. This wash tends to dry out your hands.
