Possible Spring 2014 Chicagoland Detail Day?

Ron, thank you for your generous donations as well ass stepping up to help those learn about polishing, I really do appreciate it and I'm glad we've got a little variety going on at the Detail Day, its really a good thing! Some will learn what you and Paul are able to provide, some will be able to contribute to the work on the donor car and feel a sense of accomplishment, while others will be turned onto new products, techinques and get to put a face with a name, awesome!!

Sunday is looking pretty good guys/gals, we're soooo close now:-)

If this weather doesn't co-operate in the next day or two I know my car won't be up to snuff. I will be coming regardless, but this weather is pissing me off!!

^^ Tell me about it!!! Mine needs some sealant and wax!

Gonna get my donations together probably tomorrow.

Can't wait!

Looking very forward to meeting everyone on Sunday!

I will be providing coffee, donuts, snacks, water, pop, cups, plates, napkins, etc...

However, I would really appreciate it if a few of you guys could bring a cooler with a few bags of ice.

Let me know if anyone can help out.

Thanks!

^^ I got you. It's not too big, about 1.5-2 feet in length though. I'll get some ice as well.

Woohoo I got my car back just in time for Sunday. Unfortunately I can't touch the new panels for 2 months :(. So looks like I will just be glazing it won't be nice but better than nothing, see you guys Sunday!:)

So waaaaay back on January 6th I got the ball rollin' for our Detail Day and when it came to pick the date I thought the later in May would be best as the winter was sooooo bad, just to be safe and then to my surprise, while in the gym this morning, I look outside and see flakes, ###! Then on the TV appears "The Grim Reaper" aka Tracey Butler and thankfully the volume was down but any time she's on the radio with Roe and Roper its when the weather suxx, like today! I can't freakin' believe this sheeet, seriously!

Its supposed to be nice for Sunday but even tomorrow isn't going to be all that great, so I hope everyone is able to do what they can for their cars. I will be doing a rinseless when I get there but still, need to clean out the wheelwells and undercarrige too, my God!

I think I'll be able to make it.

Just got a new car a week ago, so I haven't done much to it yet. Haven't even clayed it :(.

Going to see what I can get done tomorrow--weather is supposed to clear up.

I'll bring something to give away.

Anything else?

washed my car yesterday, didn't clay or wax or really do anything more then wash it because I was counting on today to be warmer and less wet then yesterday... Guess I was wrong. Reguardless, I'm off on sunday (for the first time in a long while) and will be making be best of it despite any weather mishaps.

It'll also be the first worthwhile cruse in my new car, so definitely looking forward to it.

I see you've added yourself to the list, so I hope you make it out. Btw, what kind of car did you get?

I'll be there--Lexus IS350 F-sport

Should I bring anything?

I have never been to a detailing meet, but I'm guessing I should bring some random products/tools so people can see them in person in case they haven't already or are thinking about buying...etc.

Is there a list of stuff people are hoping to see/try? Maybe I have some of those products and make sure I bring them.

I have tried the Rupes (21mm), but not with Rupes pads, so I'm hoping to try out or see the system in person because I'm thinking about buying some of their polishers. :buffing:

Ohhh, F-sport, love the wheels that come on those! Also, its one of the best looking new cars on the road today, along with the Mazda 6 and Jaguar F-type coupe'!

Bring what you want to use and/or show, we have a donor car we're doing a full paint correction on. Looking forward to meeting you and the other noobs as well!

The calm before the storm - slowly starting to get things ready for tomorrow...

Thanks Jeff!

Everyone getting pumped or what! Can't wait for the cruize in tomorrow morning, I'm sure everyone will see something they absolutely love, guarantee it and I don't even know what all is coming in (but I have an idea!)

Btw Jeff if one of those guys needs a good rinseless wash I'm already prepared to do one! I know you told me to not worry about buckets but I have one made up with 2.5 gallons of DG rinseless and another one with rinse water, so if one of those guys comes in "ridin' dirty" I'd love to wash one, which ever one asks me, I'll do it, its the least I can do and it would be a pleasure! I have good wheel/tire cleaners too, so they'd be getting a good wash!
