Cleaning over vinyl lettering

I heard/read a quote from Mike saying the kit is aimed for novice detailers and the huge overhang is to save them from striking the Bp on something.

I have a bridge I want to sell you.:props:

Yeah in the box it said it was for "overhang" being that I know relatively nothing aside from the past few weeks of trolling the forums better safe than sorry. I can move to a new backing plate easily, I'm actually staying in Stuart for the next week and a half so AG is right down the street!

I would highly recommend that you get some 5.5" pads.

So that it goes faster or are there other benefits? Sorry if that seems like a dumb question.

5.5" pads are what I use 99%of the time, I find they're a good mix of area coverage and maneuverability.

I know pin striping and vinyl lettering are different, but the same idea. Today I polished over these stripes with a B&S orange flat pad, rupes 15 on 6 and a compound equivalent to fg400 (not sold here on AG) didn't harm them one bit.

Just don't do anything you're not confident doing!
I've been in this situation dozens of times and usually have a pretty good idea how hard I can push the envelope.

Thanks for the reply, I'm going to order my 105/205 combo so when I get back from out of town I'll try out the 205 on the cap. I'll be getting some 5.5" pads too.
