website review

Nice and simple website! Overall look is Ok with me. It is not bad but not exactly thrilling. I would work on developing the look in line with the fun whimsical name you have for your business

$20 for headlight restoration is RIDICULOUSLY cheap! Product, time and labor, insurance etc... you better be rolling all day long back to back otherwise you won't be making money.

Are you offering a sealant or a lens coating as a protection?? Those products do cost, you know!

If I were to give one constructive criticism on the website is the blue link does not show well

It's really just a start up price, just getting the experience and a nice customer base. I'm not putting much money at all into it yet, but when I do that price will go up. Thanks for the reply!!

Links fixed, thanks for pointing that out!!

  • I would work on how people are going to find your business online through search engines.

  • I would also buy the URL you want and pay for web hosting so you have a unique URL...you will also be able to have an e-mail using your domain so it looks professional. I would also consider changing the name of your business or at the very least figuring out how to shorten the URL "www.CanYouSeeMeNowHeadlightRestoration.com" is a mouthful and a lot to type.

  • Your about page doesn't tell me anything about headlight restoration it just shows before and after pictures. I would change that to Portfolio.

  • If you are building a customer base at $20 and $15 you aren't going to be building repeat customers when you increase your prices. To give you an idea I charge $80 for headlight restoration and that includes Opti-Lens coating.

You've got a good start, you just need some tweaking to be even better.

Thanks for the input, this helps out alot!!

Site fixed, now just need to make a couple more tweeks to make it good, I might just add this on as an extra service when i'm able to get enough equipment to get into detailing.

Also to add what has already been mentioned, maybe if you have a more dramatic before and after photo on the main page instead of the one you have. Just my 2 cents, no bashing at all.

Anything helps, thanks for the input!! Changed the pic!!

Also, does anyone know the fees and insurance costs in SC? and do yall think I should have some type of guarantee, I'm thinking of starting a referral program once I get my business cards. Any extra tips anyone has would be awesome!!

Hi my name is Bruce and I'm the owner of Macs Mobile Detailing also in south Carolina, Columbia to be exact. I will be honest, with your prices people will actually shy away from you with the mindset that you ate not professionaly trained in this field of in the automotive appearance industry. I would price your service @ at least $50.00 per pair but $80.00 is more in the price range for a permanent restoration using Opti-lense as the the sealant.

Ok, thanks. I'll take that into consideration. Never really thought about it that way.

What's the best way to go about raising prices?

I have to agree with some of the other guy's on a few points. As for your web address (shorter is better) no body wants to type in a long URL, you can use "Can you see me now" as a slogan, but too much for a URL.

As for your price, Too Low, people will not take you seriously! If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is! Although my prices are not very high, I will soon be offering a 5 year warranty and for that, my price will double. If you do good work and your product will last, then you won't be getting any repeat business for one to two years, but if your work won't last 6 months then you probably won't get any repeat business anyway.

Your Website in my opinion needs a lot of work! I use "WEEBLY" and you will need to upgrade to the "PRO" version for "SEO" Search engine optimization, and "content is king" load it with good helpful information. Building a good website takes a lot of time and effort, I use to do some from scratch web design for a few local small businesses, and I have learned a lot over the past 12 years.

If you would like, send me your info through my website contact page and I can help you out in that respect, (No Charge).

Good Luck!
