What's going on guys, CM8 6MT here with a review on another outstanding product from the new Mothers 2014 line up.
The Product
Mothers Revision Glass+Surface is the latest glass cleaner that Mothers has to offer. However, this is more than just a standard glass cleaner, this is a multi-surface cleaner. It comes in a 24oz spray bottle.
Not a Re-Label
Before I start, I'd like to point out that this is NOT a re-label of the standard Mothers Glass Cleaner. This is a completely new product.
Product Claims
This pro-strength product claims it has the ability to clean tough grime, dirt, oily film and fingerprints from virtually any surface. Including:
*Glass
*Household items
*Electronic Displays
*Phones/Tablets
*Touch screens
*Mirrors
*Plastic
*Chrome
*Countertops
*TV's
*Laptops/Monitors
*Appliances
Yet, it remains safe enough for use on window tint, gauges, GPS Screens, smart phones, tablets and other delicate displays. Like I stated, it’s a multi-surface cleaner. It boasts the ability to clean a variety of surfaces while being:
*Streak-Free
*Haze-Free
*Fingerprint resistant
*Ammonia-Free
*Tint-Safe
The Application
I work with what I have, and my iPhone camera isn’t exactly professional grade quality to be able to capture dirty glass or screens up close. Capturing before & afters wasn’t going to happen with it. With that being said, I’m going to show what I used this product on, and what the results where per my experience.
Auto Glass
This is the first surface I used this product on. I followed the products instructions, which were:
1. Ensure surface is cool to the touch. Do not let dry.
2. Spray Revision onto soft microfiber towel. Gently wipe surface to distribute product evenly.
3. Turn to a dry area of towel and buff lightly for a streak-free shine.
*For electronic devices, it is recommended to turn off device and let it cool.
The Results
I lightly sprayed my MF towel with the product, and started cleaning my driver's side window. This product worked beautifully. It cleaned the dirt and smudges on my window effortlessly, and best of all it accomplished this without streaking. This product is by far, the best glass cleaner I've ever used.
Other Uses
What about other surfaces? Below are some snapshots of other stuff I tested the product on:
Car Display
I used it on my cars audio system display screen, which also displays the XM Satellite radio & the dual AC controls. In other words, a very important screen that I wouldn’t just use anything on.
Glass Table
Next up, I tried it on our kitchen table. As expected, it quickly cleaned up smudges and other shenanigans that end up on our table after eating. Mostly MY mess because I eat like a little kid and leave stuff everywhere. Just as the product stated, after I buffed it clean it truly made my glass table resistant to finger prints. This is great because my table will now be less prone to smudging & smearing.
Laptop
Where all the magic is generated from. My "article/review" machine. This product really benefited from its anti smudging/finger print resistant properties. My laptop keys are really glossy, and are prone to fingerprints. This product will definitely keep my laptop looking cleaner for longer.
LCD TV & Stand
I cleaned my glass TV stand, and my TV’s screen as well. There’s nothing better than a clean entertainment system.
Since this product is streak-free, I can enjoy surfing the Mothers website on a crystal clear 47" LED TV
Conclusion
Revision Glass+Surface works exactly as it claims. This is expected, especially with Mothers products. My wife was so impressed with how well this product cleans, that she now wants a bottle of her own. She’s been using mine lately to clean around the kitchen, shower glass & other wife-like duties. She likes how it out-performs her own glass cleaning/surface products, and also likes that it’s made by the same brand as my "car stuff".
Final Thoughts
For around $6.99, this product is a MUST HAVE. Regardless if you’re going to use it for auto glass, electronics or household uses. I'll be using this glass cleaner for auto glass detailing exclusively. The fact that it performs extremely well for auto glass, and able to be used on other surfaces as well is a HUGE plus. I love this product on auto glass, my wife loves it for electronics & household uses. It’s a win-win. I highly recommend this product.
