Showing some love to my sister

Wow, complete turnaround!!! That Camry looks great now. Im sure your sister gave you a big hug!

Sounds like the paint was was hard. Did you feel like you were polishing concrete? Lol

Looks good! How was the inside and What is plast x

The Inside wasn't too bad, I did a simple wipe down and vacuum.
Plast-x is made by Meguair's , it's a polish for plastics.
Works well on headlights and taillights.
It has some cleaning abilities but not enough to clean up the headlights you see here.
I use it to maintain my headlights.

Give it a try:dblthumb2:

Again, thanks everyone for all of the kind words:)

Makes a brother feel good:)

Paint was pretty darn hard, why for the rotary, I could have done the job with the DA but like I said I would have had a tough time in getting those deep scratches out.
There was so much oxidation, the paint looked dead but it wasn't.

My speeds were at 1800 RPM's for the most part using the wool and about 1000-1200 when using the foam.
I did jewel the hood due to the color at 600 RPM's , it doesn't give that pop like dark colors so thought it was worth it to jewel the hood, it now looks very wet now:dblthumb2:W

The 849x is one hell of a machine, if your looking to move up to a rotary then I say look into the DeWalt 849x.
You can buy it here at AGO

Nice job and write-up, thanks for sharing. :xyxthumbs:

Nice work on the Toyota. These jobs aren't easy but you can easily see a major difference in the before and afters when they're so trashed to begin with.

Just goes to show that no matter what flavor of the month compounds come to the market, M-105 definitely has a sure footing as one of the most effective ones out there. I'll trade dusting for time savings any day of the week.

Great Job!!

You know the first thing that came to my eye?.... the Hampton decal on the trunk. Not many South Central Louisianian posting on the forum. Being about 20 miles South of Lafayette, that decal just jumped at me :)

... and by the way, a hug sometimes is the best form of payment ;)

Very nice detail, well done. and I agree the hug she gave you in return meant more then anything! :props:

I'm near Lafayette myself.
So your living here too?

I agree.
I don't mine some dusing when the compound is working for me.
Back in the day we had to hand wash after compounding but not anymore;)

Funny I just did my 200,000 mile 2001 Camry this weekend with similar results. Wish I had the wool/rotaty combo as the mf pad/compound with PC combo did not touch the major stuff. Nice job and I know how hard you worked!

Yeah so you know the challenge it gives you
Not sure on exact mileage but it was up there.

Thanks for your kind words:)

That's it when people tries to generalize Toyota paint as soft. I've polished a Corolla (graphite color) and that was by far the hardest paint I've met. Polishing it with the 'bare' backing plate wouldn't touch defects I was facing.

In conclusion, I had to use MF pads, M100 compound, pressure and power with veeeeery slow arm speed. Ah, to achieve no more than 80% of what I wanted to achieve.

That was the only time until now I've missed a rotary by much.

Thanks for sharing,

Kind Regards.

I said the same thing about my 09 Honda Accord.
