First off, I would like to thank everyone for putting so much care and effort into both detailing and this forum! This is a great place and I think so many of us have benefited from the knowledge shared on this site.

Which is why I would like to ask people to stop using abbreviations for car care and detailing products! I know it's a pain to type some phrases out but I think for myself and a lot of other newer forum members might be a little confused when we can't figure out what product or thing someone is referring to. This may just be ignored but I would appreciate it if everyone jumped on board!

Don't underestimate yourself.
You'll be amazed at how quickly you learn the language.

I understand you pain and many others like you have made similar posts, including me. Once you're here for awhile it gets a little redundant typing out Ultima Paint Guard Plus 15 times when making a post.

It does help though if a person starting a thread types out Ultima Paint Guard Plus, or any product they may be discussing, at least types the name of the product in the opening post and thereafter uses an http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tricks-tips-techniques/863-acronyms.html...a (<<<A list that's been created just for occasions like this). Just click on http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tricks-tips-techniques/863-acronyms.html

EDIT: Here's another one.

That's true, I used to google search the abbreviations to find out what they were.

I agree, I'll start typing out the entire word to make it easy for others who may be new to most of the products here.

Example.

How is someone to know what WGGPS means?

Wolfgang Glossy Paint Sealant.

Some may ask what is a good polish to use but never used any.
He's wanting an ultra fine polish.
Then I say try the 205 or m205, they'll be like what!
Better to just type Meguar's 205 Ultra Fine Polish, that way they'd know for sure what to search for.

Yeah,we all need to get into the habit of typing the entire word out IMO:)

No more CG'S P-40
It will now be Chemical Guys P-40 Detail Spray:)

When I first joined the forum, the abbreviations drove me crazy. What in the world is UWW+ or UTTG? Took a while but I picked up on the lingo here.

With that said, I TRY to post the full name at least once in a post or thread, then use the acronym thereafter...........

Lol I struggled with these when I first joined..... And I still find myself jumping from the forum to the store to look up what things are.

Still not sure what UWW+ and UTTG are
