Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

Yeah I'm not a fan of colored wheels either Monica, it seems they're colored just to be colored, plus its usually plasti-dip anyways, cheap. A buddy of mine had some nice wheels on his S2K and had them powder coated tuquois, his car was silver and it looked AWESOME!

Thanks for the compliments Monica, I appreciate it, just hope I'm able to pull this mod off now;)

Let us know if you do it :dblthumb2:

Its going to be a couple monthes till I'd be doing this, but when Uncle Sam comes through, I'll pull the trigger! The wheels weigh 16.5 lbs and although I'm no snoob on what a wheel weighs, I know its an improvement in performance too!!

There's small and there's SMALL!

"Do you think the engine in the rear makes my butt look big?"

LOL:p

Now I have a dilemma, do I go for the red, 5 spoke wheels to use as my 3 season set up which give the car a very unique and custom look that ties into my stripe theme OR do I get a Forge FMIC to giv the car more POWAAH🚦

I could get some cheaper wheels to put on my snow tires come next fall if I go with the FMIC and I'd have a complete 3 season and winter set up then.

The red, 5 spoke wheels are only 16.5 lbs which are about 5 lbs lighter than my stock forged wheels, so that too would be an upgrade to performance in and of itself. I've never had a real light weight set of wheels and I'm thinking about damage as its my DD.

What do you guys/gals think ?

I avoid really light wheels because of damage issues. But that's just me. YMMV!

I have $1000 to blow, urrrr, I mean spend. Not sure when my buddy back home is going to get rid of his Abarth because he just added an intake to it, he's really bit or stung by the Scorpian for sure! Its only a matter of time and his FMIC and larger TB would be for sale, I just have to wait.

To quote Queen..."I want it now"

Maybe because I just turned 45 2 days ago but I'm leaning on the side of being safe, not to mention the stock wheels look great! I've also been into perf and I want the car to have even more powaah! Once it's in your veins it doesn't go away no matter how old you are (I was in remission with the last 2 Honda's before the Abarth)

They are 17 x 7.5 (stock is 17 x 7)

I can buy the FMIC & 500 Madness lightened pulley for what the wheels cost. The pulley is OEM diameter but weights 2 lbs less than stock. With the addition of the FMIC I can turn up my tuning box too, going from setting #7 to #8....also more power!

See where I'm going here🔰.....🇮🇹

I'm getting on a group buy for the Ambient Temperature Management FMIC when I get home tonight. I guess it's true what they say POWER CORRUPTS😈

It sure does!
I haven't even started modding and I'm DYING to get started!:drool::drool:

Since you already have a nice set of rims I say POWAAH all the way!

Boost is a very addicting feeling! You have gone the way I would have.

I just ordered the lightened crank pulley tonight! One down, one to go!! I'm going to PayPal the money for the ATM FMIC tomorrow. There's a group by and I'd be #7 or 8 and the price goes down $26.00 if it hits 20 buyers, I'm not holding my breathe but then again its no hurry as its not going to be installed until the weather is nice😃

This morning I paid the full amount for the ATM FMIC group buy, so power is coming this spring🚥 I will post pics of the parts once they come in, these are high quality pieces too!

The pulley is so nice, too bad you'll never see it buried in the engine bay. I've held this part in my hand as a buddy of mine has it in his car and the quality is amazing! Another buddy of mine back home has the ATM FMIC on his ABARTH and he's all about this part, so I know I made the right call on these parts.

Finally there's going to be the ability to turn UP my tuning box to take advantage of these mods, I can't wait! I was told once I did the FMIC I could safely do this, should be over 200 hp now and torque is where it's at, there will be aplenty🇮🇹

Did you get this on the group buy on the Fiat 500 Forum at $799?

I have to tell you, my wife says you are a bad influence on me<g>! Please let me know how much work it is to install when you get around to installing it...

One other point of interest. My Abarth got hit by a deer and needed some work. I pointed out the problems with the lower trim pieces that warp out (due to the use of double sided tape to hold them in place). They fixed both sides for me during the repairs. For some reason that defect had a big influence on my relationship with the machine and getting it fixed has made me feel very differently about the car. (Yeah, I know, I'm nuts<g>!)

Best,
<TED>
