Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

There's a lot of pages to go through here so pardon me if you have mentioned already. Is the black paint on that Abarth soft or hard? My friend has one like that (though different wheels) and I might help him detail it and knowing that will help me choose products to start with. Thanks

No problem!

I've polished the car twice in over 3.5 years and I'd say it's med to medium/soft. This year, before I applied WGU ceramic paint coating, I used Optimum hyper polish and it worked great! Keep in mind my paint is Nero metallic, not the straight black that comes on some of them. I used an orange GG foam pad as well but that's because my paint had minor swirls. This polish is worth the money because when I was done polishing the car I washed it just clean it up and when I pulled it outside my eyes watered, true story

Great, thanks. He has the Nero color too. But his stripes and mirror caps are all red. Also has the grey wheels. With your comments I think his car might be a good candidate for HD Speed and an orange or white pad. Just to clean up 3 years of neglect. He will continue to take it to car wash and it's not in a garage so not worth the effort beyond an AIO. Maybe put some WGDGPS on it to last longer.

Is it an Abarth?

Yes. And he just bought a piggyback ecu, intake, and thermal blanket from 500madness. I guess 160hp wasn't enough :p
Those thermal blankets have a break-in period where they have a tendency of smoking a little bit so let him know not to be alarmed when that happens. I have the piggyback tune the next Power 93 tune, is that the one that he went with or are you somewhere where only 91 octane is available?

I'm not sure which tune he chose. We do have 93 available in all gas stations. I think he said the stuff he bought should take it to ~200hp.

I just texted him and he did get the 93 octane tune too. He's now looking for someone to install it for him. Too scared to do it himself

My buddy Hectour does my modding and I do his detailing. If he has any questions about the car have him txt me if need be. You can PM me for my cell #, I've had the car since Valentine's Day 2014 I have other mods done to the car, maybe between the 2 of us we can keep him out of those drive thru washes (touch frees are ok though)

This is one of THREE uphill hairpins, well, when you run it counter clockwise which is the way we were told to run it. The other 2 seem steeper but I know this, you really need to grab 1st gear to get up this incline properly, well, unless you have a torqueee engine. Oh and BTW, this is a section of the Devil's Triangle, about 1.25 hrs away from the Dragon. I've run this road only once and it was wild, literally. There's soft shoulders, shoulders that have 1' soft curbs, houses, business' and some side roads. There's a section of switchbacks, like 3 set of 3, its a great road but the road is supposedly in disrepair, hopefully they get after it. That said, I might make it out there again!

As you can see here, its easy to make a loop out there. We're staying at the intersection of 129/72. For our Thursday route we'll be taking 72 to route 411 and making a left to route 360 and making another route and running that right into Tellico Plains for breakfast. Route 360 runs right into the Cherahola Skyway, easy to get everywhere out there (easy for me to say since I've been going every year since 2003!)

Have fun Roger! I always stayed in Fontana Village. Dumps you right on Hellbender to the Tail. Great drive.

Saw this on Facebook a few months ago. Might be something to talk about for next year.

Looks like it's off of the Skyway!

Kinda confused about the prices, $230 a night or $450 for combination, maybe combo is multiple people staying there?

It would be cool to get a couple of the Calibre crew to go and certain hand picked others (hint, hint)
