Winter wash dilemma, need suggestions

I don't have the issue of $$$ because I keep my grade and step if I transfer and just take a hit on the cost of living adjustment for the geographic region. If I sell my house I can probably make enough $$$ where I would have little or no mortgage.

Now, if you could keep those NY wages then you would be fine... :xyxthumbs:

Time to move is now though before the housing market comes back. :D

Supposed to Snow and or freezing rain here in NC for the next 4 days...

So fed up with this weather and NYC. Took next week off and driving to Disney in Orlando, FL with family. I will wash the truck in FL!

Come on down! I'm in Tampa and wash my car weekly! Being originally from Mass I can understand the original post question and frustration with what that winter has been doing to your rides. Especially this winter for you guys.

I am actually foolish enough to be considering a move back home. I use ONR often for those quick washes and thought about filling 2 buckets with warm/hot water. Is that an option? Or does that brutal temp quickly chill the water. Or even worse, maybe the ONR freezes on the paint when it's brutally cold.

Just some thoughts i have asked myself as i consider moving back up to the Great White (and cold) North.

I leave mine. I can stand a dirty car knowing my only option is a car wash that can scratch and swirl them. Luckily it it's going to be 70 here tomorrow and me and my cars have a date.

The cars are so dirty I would not touch them with ONR and MF towels. I would need a ton of towels. They need to be power washed and foamed. On my way down or in Orlando if I can find a coin op I am going to use it. I am bringing Meg's WWWA, DG RWWA and Ultra plush and waffle weave towels.

1. most garages slope down to allow water to drain.. I use a rubber push squeegee to push most water out.
2. Propane tank from grill and heating element attached heats my 2 car to about 65-70 easily
3. ONR... pretreat/spray with ONR in a pressurized sprayer and you will be good

Where there is a will there IS a way!

There's a lot of truth here! :props:

Many times during a long, cold, snowy winter I've used a no rinse solution, hot water, and a garden sprayer.

Work on 1 panel at a time and spray liberally allowing the solution to soften the grime and debris. The hot water also aids in loosening up the grime making it easier and more effective during the wash.

In a separate bucket have a the same solution and hot water. Using a wash mitt, begin to wash at the top and flooding the area. The soft mitt will gently wipe the debris and the solution will allow it to float off the finish. It's important to keep rinsing the mitt against the bucket guard to dislodge contaminates.

Wash each panel twice using this method then dry using a Guzzler towel, you'll be very impressed with the results...

Anyone know of any self serve/ coin op car washes in Orlando near Disney?

I just did a Google search because I was wondering the same. There seems to be quite a few down there. When are you going down?

Any DIY car washes in Orlando????? - E46Fanatics

We are leaving Wednesday and staying over in Fayetteville NC. We'll be down there by Thursday night. Was trying to convince my wife to drive straight through but with two babies she really didn't want to and I'm starting to think its a good idea.

I lived down in Winter Park, a little north of Orlando, and I remember there being quite a few car washes but most were hand wash places.
