Ok I am doing a major correction on a 1980s porsche with single stage paint. I rather not have to take off the window shield washer nozzles on the hood.

So I have taped them up and tried edging them with a 3m wool compound pad and some compound. It seems not to be working, any suggestions?

I might just go around it with some 3000 then buff it out. Or I might come to the point where I will just have to take them off and do buff it.

Anyone have any experience or suggestions? Maybe wet sand? More aggressive compound? Different pad?

i had the same problem and i ended up having to get a foam pad with a corner on it and tilt the buffer so that the angle would hit just right instead of hitting the washer and the hood but not getting into the corner. best of luck

Because it is such a small area, maybe you can just do it by hand with some compound on a microfiber towel.

This or pull the pad off the polisher and use it by hand. A foam hand applicator works well also for tight areas.
