Trim and Tire dressing

Funny that it took the white lettering off the buttons/controls. The only time I've seen that was when I used Simple Green as an APC.

As for the problems with shine, it sounds like you're applying it way too thick. I had the same issues when using the 303 wipes. When I used the spray and applied the product using a MF towel, I've not had those issues. Wiping it on, and then gently buffing it out leaves a matte, like-new appearance for me.
Yea I was not happy about it removing the white letting lol.

I may have been applying it too thick for the car. I started w/ using 303 on our boat so I could spray as much as I wanted on that. So applying too much for the car is a possibility.

Another thing about 303 - don't use it on leather seats. My seats were forever slippery and slidey after I put 303 on the leather seats on my old car!

But it is perfect on everything on the boat, so I will always have a bottle of it in the garage.

I think this might again be the result of too much product being used.

I've used it on the leather seats in my wife's Toyota and my VW with no ill effects. In fact I chose 303 specifically because I could hit the entire interior of our cars with one single product rather than having to use a vinyl/plastic product for some surfaces and another product of the leather. Since the leather on both cars is sealed, the 303 has worked perfectly...for me.

Lol what the heck! Crazy you had good experiences with it everywhere I had bad experiences with it! I guess that's why there is the saying "use what you like and use it often!" Glad that it works for you desert, so might as well keep using it! :xyxthumbs:

On an old car did it ever take off the white lettering of controls for you?

Strange isn't it?

No, I've not lost any lettering using the stuff. I've used Armour All, Windex, 303, a couple of Meguiars products, and Vinylex on interiors and none have ever removed lettering or even faded out the lettering. The only product that has ever done that for me was Simple Green.

Could be user error on my part. I've read a few other people say the same as me about it, but I have heard some people like yourself that have had no issues at all.

I've been using Black Magic Ultimate tire shine Gel for the tires. I know it doesn't fit the dilute or usable on interior, but it works GREAT on tires, and leaves a fairly natural shine when you don't put a ton of it on, and so far it has lasted through 3 heavy snows and a good bit of salt on the roads.

CG has a nice selection I tend to use VPR or Silk Dressing in which the results are good.

I use 303 religiously on our boat, and have for as long as I can remember. However, I have only had bad experience with it on cars. It runs off the exterior quickly, and leaves it blotchy. I have had 303 remove the white pictures and letters on the headlight controls on the blinker stalk and remove white lettering off the wiper stalk as well. That and its too shiny to be used on dash boards, drives me crazy. Makes the sun glare into your eyes off the dash. Even with a MF wipe after to buff some off.

I just bought CarPro PERL to try out. I haven't tried it yet, nor have I tried any other of the ones mentioned here. I just got into the "boutique" products as I call them, aka not OTC products

Just wanted to weigh in on my experience with 303. It is great on the boat though!

You need to remove it while it is still wet. It will gloss from drying. Directions tell you to not let it dry first.

Also, after your buff on it, wipe with a barely damp MF and it will de-gloss some more.

(I am using it on a black Camry dash.)

I just gave wolfgang trim sealant anoher shot this weekend. I'm a believer now. I would recommend it.
