Midworst car care is it worth it?

You guys have given me some thoughts on this. A sealant might be the trick. My jeep has a metallic black finish so it shows everything. It is only 8 months old. If I go the Sealant route do I need to polish it before hand to get rid of any minor finish issues? Also, my Jeep is garage kept half the time. I am building my kit as well. What I have right now is:

Megs Gold Class Shampoo
Megs MF Mitt
Megs Shine Detail Towels
NXT 2.0
Ordering Cobra Ultimate Guzzler

Now I need a polish and a sealant. Is Wolfgangs 3.0 and their polish the route or Blackfire?

Also am I missing anything else?

Wash with the Gold Class before anything.

I would recommend decontaminate 1st using Iron-X.

Then for the polishing step you can use the WG Finishing Glaze (It's a Finishing Polish, not a glaze), LC White Pad or Megs Yellow Pad.

Then Apply WG Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, 2 coats 24 hours apart. Apply thin using a finishing pad, let haze for 45 min to an hour, comes off really easy.

Maintain with WG Instant Detail Spritz and or WG Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant.

Thanks Jankerson! by the way, are you on the blade forums also?

I take care of mine here in the midwest. But I use pretty middle of the road products. The biggest issue I have is parking outside where ice and snow packs onto the vehicles then sliiiides right off when it gets warmer. You can imagine what that does to the finish of my car.

The Midwest gets freezing winters AND summers with high heat and unbearable humidity. Sometimes I wonder why I'm still here :/

So I grew up in the North east, cold winters, hot summers, rude people, road salt, pot holes, slag on the back roads.... Moved to Florida - Mild winters, hot summers with rain every day, rude people that also moved from the north east, bugs the size of a hawk, something called "love bugs" twice a year, tourists, and I can't find a pizza, steak sandwich, bagel or pretzel worth a dam.

But I did find AG, and learned a ton so now my car looks great. A coating was the way to go for sure, with summer rains every or almost every day it's tough to ever be spot free, but a quick rinse, some detail-er and your ready to take a ride and dodge the bingo crowd! I experienced the Pinnacle Black Label for the first time a few months back and it has held up great. Wash with some ONR and the water just slides off the car.

Ohh yea and the love bugs, the worst thing besides hail for a cars finish and cooling system... They taste like crap when on the bike too...

Question for you, Menzerna Final Finish vs WG Glaze? Both are 2500 removers....AG has a special on FF and WG 3.0 combo. Is WG Glaze the same as the FF? Being my jeep is new (may 2013) I am nervous with something that is abrasive. I am a noob here so guidance is once again appreciated.

Glaze in general is strictly for appearance and little protection. With the Final Finish- it is a light polish therefore it does have abrasives. So technically you can apply the Glaze after you polish your vehicle.

Since you bought the car in May, it is 100% fine to do a correction detail.

I'm glad you are coming out to the Chicago meet in May, you will learn a ton! Don't forget that you can always PM me with any questions. BTW- I sometimes visit the AutoWerkz in Northbrook :)

WG Finishing Glaze is a Finishing Polish, not a glaze as the name implies.

They both will be about the same. :xyxthumbs:
