Neglected 2010 Escape

Great job. It look sbetter than new.

Question, was there a reason you washed after claying?

Ive just always done it that way, because i use a quick detailer to clay which has some "gloss modifiers" so it may hide some imperfections... whether it does or not idk, bit ive just always done it that way

Looks awesome!
It would kill me knowing after all that work, they're just going to go back out and drive it through the snow and trash it again.

Wohaooo, nice job and awesome reflections. :xyxthumbs: I have a project like this escape, but only for exterior detailing. I would like to know how long did it take you exterior detailing? And how many pads did you use of every color?

Eh, They've been trying to take care of it thus far. They've been in for a mainenance wash, and the interior looks as if is being maintained well.

I used 1 yellow pad with m105 to remove large and heavy scratches

3 green pads with pf2500 (completely cleaned the first two pads 1 time each, but I cleaned them "on the fly" multiple times)

3 white pads with sf4500 (same process as the green pads)

Excellent work! As much as I'm sure you like the turnaround, if you are like me, the best reward is with the customer's appreciation. :dblthumb2:
Look forward to more write-ups!

Thank You! My Favorite part of doing this is the customers reaction when they see it. It makes all the time and effort worth it.

I have another write up im working on right now, not nearly as impressive, but still a detail.

Thank you for your time and the valuable info. But forget, how long did you take the exterior detailing?

Ill say your dedicated.....what was the time element on that job? Great rejuvenation work! Cant teach you NUTHIN! The Fords aren't all that easy to get that nice. Did you charge enough for the perfect job? Hope the customer doesn't run it through a car w---.

I too have a 2010 Black Ford Escape. the condition is nowhere near what you've had to deal with, but I can appreciate your hard work and skill to turn that one around!

Keep it up!

I'm looking to dive into the annual detail/paint correction fairly soon, so I'll post the writeup/pics for us to compare notes.. :)

thank you for the kind words!

All in all it took me 13 hours from start to finish. about 3 hours on the interior, 1 hour for lunch and to get a hose for my reel that burst, and the rest was spent on the exterior. however, the hood took me 3 hours by itself because it had ridiculously soft paint and wouldnt allow me to wipe off any polishing residues.

and when all was said and done, i did a bit more than i charged for, but it was still worth it monetarily.
