After spending a couple hours today reading the forums, window shopping the store, and reading product reviews I think I'm about ready to place an order.

Having never really done detailing before but wanting to take care of my new sorento and get off on the right foot I tried to make sure everything was covered.
I would hate to spend this money and time taking care of 90% of the vehicle to only later have it spoiled by an area that I neglected.

With that said, I'm not sure if the list below is over kill.

I would love to get some more knowledgable options. Please let me know if there are areas of over lap where one product could replace another one or two products on my list.
I would prefer to have fewer products but not if I would regret it down the road.

Poorboy's super slick and Wax Shampoo
Mothers California Gold Clay Bar Paint System
Poorboy’s world Professional Polish
Collinite 845
Optimum Protectant Plus
Ultima Interior shampoo gel
303 High Tech Fabric Guard
Optimum metal polish
1Z Einszett vinyl rubber care and protectant
Stoner Invisible Glass
megulars headlight Protectant

This is for a 1 week old Silver Kia Sorento in Southwest Florida Non-Garage kept.

With the car being just one week old should I still see about claying it?

Thanks in advance for advice and opinions.

At a casual glance it seems like a reasonable list. What about wash mitts, buckets, grit guards, microfiber, and product applicators?

EDIT: what about wheel cleaner? Tire gel/coating?

You should absolutely clay the car. Almost guaranteed it has bonded contaminants. While you have only had the car a week, look at the manufactured date on the door jamb. It has been in transit and storage for some time.

Your list looks reasonable.

Make sure when using the fabric guard you can let the car sit for at least a day and pick a warm day to do it. I have had it take almost 3 days to dry when applied liberally.

You might want to consider Opti-Coating the car. It will make it far easier to maintain in the long run.

One other thing, since you are new here. AG has a LOT of sales. Usually you get free shipping on big orders too. If you do not want to wait, sign up for the VIP Club and newsletter; you'll get announcements of sales and specials through e-mail, and I think you'll get a coupon (10%?) for your first order.

I would get 1z deep plastic cleaner you will like it a lot.

Thanks for all the replies and advice. I just placed my first order today. I had to cut a few corners for now because of budget. Mainly with my wheels.

Being able to work in different weather conditions was the main reason for some of the choices.

Poorboy's super slick and Wax Shampoo
Opti - Clay
Poorboy's PwS
Opti-Clean 32oz
Stoner more shine tire finish
Ultimate Quick Wax
Stoner Invisible Glass Pump Spray
Optimum Protectant Plus
303 High tech fabric guard
Stoner Upholstery cleaner
2 Grid Guards

Now it's time to do some research on what mitts, pads, etc I should start with.

hello newjay, im also in southwest florida.
your list looks ok...i just wouldnt bought the clay, instead i wouldve bought a Nanoskin Autoscrub Speedy Prep Sponge its very newbie friendly (if you drop it, just wash it off)
may i suggest a Microfiber Chenille Wash Mitt, very good mitts.
what tool will you be using as your polisher? porter cable?

Definitely clay- my Sorento had rail dust I couldn't see until I clayed it.

Thanks mrclean,

After checking it out, I called this morning to have it added to my order. First time ordering from Autogeek and have to say very good experience.
