Looking to purchase the Flex PE14-2-150 Rotary Polisher 6.5" CCS Pad Kit (V.I.P deal). For minor swirls, pre-wax cleaner and applying WG paint sealant. Will this be good for my needs / use? Thank you in advance for the input!

Are you familiar with using a rotary?

If you do not have any previous experience using a rotary I would highly recommend practicing a lot and getting your technique down on a junkyard panel or something similar. A rotary polisher can cause severe damage if used improperly. Not saying you can't do it but it won't be the most fool-proof or easy way to fix your problem. A polisher such as the Griot's Garage DA 6" polisher is also a great low budget polisher to get you started or if you would like to get something in the middle a Rupes 15/21 or Flex 3401 might be two other good options.

That's a whole lot of machine to use for what you've listed needing it for. Maybe look at some DA's (PC, GG etc). If you want a flex how about the 3401?

It's an amazing machine but I would not use that to apply sealants or for merely just removing light swirls. You can get a much cheaper machine to do that.

Yes I've used my friends Griot's DA before (great machine) and was looking at the Flex 3401. The PE14 is currently on VIP sale and was thinking 'more bang for the buck'. I have always enjoyed applying by hand, but now with 5 vehicles my arms are getting tired.

After the winter I do the Pinnacle cleansing lotion and then WGDG 3.0. On my G8 GT and wifes Envoy I top the paint sealant with Fuzion. My winter vehicle (Black Ford Explorer) has a good amount of swirlmarks and light scratches.

Looking to have this machine for many years. Really appreciate the help guys!

If I ever wanted or needed a rotary it would be a PE-14. It would make a nice addition to my arsenal. I would not have JUST a PE-14 however. Especially since I have very limited experience with a rotary. A DA machine is much safer and makes show car results much more obtainable to me.

I can't blame you for not wanting to jump on the VIP sale but you might want to add a DA to the order as well.

Just my opinion of course.

If you can afford it, get the 3401 & PE14 :dblthumb2:

Thanks everyone for your input and expertise. I just pulled the trigger on the FLEX XC3401 Wolfgang Ultimate Polishing Kit (with 15% discount). I've been a fan of Wolfgang products for years, combine that with the Flex DA accesories and you have a win-win!

The Flex PE14 is a great machine. I like it's small size and weight compared to other rotaries I have. The PE14 is agile and is very comfortable to use with or without the side handle.

The Flex PE14 does an amazing job at paint correction but a rotary wouldn't be my first choice when applying sealants or waxes..

Having said that, based on your requirements you'd probably find the Flex 3401 a more ideal machine. I would suggest buying the smaller backing plate to add the flexibility of using smaller pads.

Good decision I love my 3401:dblthumb2:
