First of all, I have owned my own mobile detail business for part time work, as I work 24 on 48 hours off on my regular job, for 3 years now. The first year was basically building the business and getting the word out there. The second year was great, and the third year I decided I wanted to go back to school and further my career opportunity within the fire service, so I sold my truck and trailer, still had my equipment and did details on the side for co-workers and friends/family.

The question I have for you all is, would it be wise or "professional" for me to fully open the business again for all customers and use their water hose/electric until I can really afford another truck with trailer? or just wait to save my money to buy a truck?

What are your thoughts on this?

I'd try using the customer's water and electricity, but, let them know up front you'd need to do that so there would be no surprises. Lots of detailing companies do that.

Best of luck.

yep, a lot of people have water tanks, generators, and pressure washers, but end up using the customers supplies

the tank, pw, and gen is best when you dont have access to those. i.e. business parks, parking lots, parks, etc...

For some they dont want to haul around the extra weight and hassle of all that, others dont cause of the strict water laws, other like to use as less water as possible i.e. waterless/rinseless

for the most part, high end cars arent going to be as dirty as daily driven cars, thus, the needs for the tank, pw, gen, is not needed as much

I use to haul around a 55 gal tank, generator, and all of my supplies, as there are A LOT of high end vehicles where I live in Sarasota, which includes Long Boat Key, Casey Key, and Siesta Key. I use to do a lot of businesses and eventually do want to get back into that fully, just need to save the money I earn at the moment to get back into that situation. I appreciate the response from you guys!

It's a great area, I am not sure where you live now, but if you don't have 1241231 tourist/old people driving, better get use to doing 5 mph under the speed limit. A lot of money to be made here, a lot of higher end vehicles as well.
