Duragloss Enviroshield Ceramic Coating System

I just asked about applying #111 or #105 over the top of it after its cured, also about using the combo of Speedy prep towel and #501 to do some minor cleaning, think of it as maintence. Who knows, this product may truely need nothing more than basic washes. Like a lot of us, rubbing on the car is therapy too and I wanna know if any harm will come to the DGPC by topping it with anything, including their own products.

I got the same reply. Nothing under or over it. And, no DA!

My neighbors would think I died if I am not out there messing with it any more.

And, I have to sell my PC, pads, and all the other stuff. I think I'll wait. LOL.

I am thinking about it right before winter hits though.

Well you still need to correct before applying the coating, so hold onto that machine and pads. Also, your old stock can be used on friends and family cars, that's about what I'm thinking about doing, plus I like to do some cars on the side and if the customer doesn't wanna pay extra for the DGNCC I have other great options for them.

That's what makes coatings so nice. Washing and drying are a snap and when you really think about it, those two maintenance chores are where most self induced swirls and scratches are done. Anything that makes maintaining the paint easier and safer is worth it long term, unlike waxes which tend to attract and hold contaminants which is counter productive in my opinion.

Good idea. I may just do that to the wife's car and be done with it. After the clear coat cures.

I have some deep (clear coat only) scratches to airbrush/fill on mine first.

Can anyone tell me if we have to mask off the vinyl first?

I didn't pull the trigger on this product before the price went up. It's still a great deal, but it was a steal before.

I don't get it. There's another thread on this forum showing the sheeting properties of this coating and it frankly is very poor in that video.

I don't know why mine does not sheet like this video. The only thing I can think of is that I used UWW+ a few days after the second coat.

After watching a few videos on youtube ive come to the conclusion that my application is the "odd" one... all of the others sheet water very slowly or not at all. The focus is still very very glossy (glass-like) and sheets water as if the coating was just applied. I wash the car with optimum no rinse wash and wax. I can for one thing say that i did not use the squeeky clean before i coated. I used an ipa wipedown

Just visited the D-Gloss website to gather some additional information on the product.

There is actually less information on their site than on the AGO product page.

What a half-a88ed attempt by their webmaster

I wonder if the Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax is why you are getting good sheeting?

From AG website:
"After you wash your vehicle with Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax, you’ll immediately notice the crisp, clear reflections that the real carnauba wax imparts on the paint. What’s more, your vehicle will stay cleaner as the carnauba wax will create an immense amount of surface tension, causing water to bead up and roll off."

Anything you apply over a coating will mute the characteristics of the coating itself.

You should be seeing the characteristics of the Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax, which promises:

I agree with you 100 percent that i SHOULD be seeing the characteristics of the OWW but I am not. I use OWW on my subaru (not coated) and my focus. The subaru beads and the focus sheets, but only time will tell if it will continue that way.

That site has always been that way...I think the site has the same info as on the box, which is not much. DG is marketed as an OTC product, not a boutique one.

looks like it's available here to purchase...

Duragloss Enviroshield Ceramic Coating System

And I balked at the price, until I saw that the original price at DG must have been an introductory promo (sorry if this has already been noted, I've been out of this thread for a while).
