Mrclean's photos of autogeek's 9th annual detail fest

I was so, so close to going this year. Seeing all these pics makes me so sorry I didn't go. WOW, looks so great.

i see that youre in nyc. larry made it out here and he was telling me he was burning up with florida's sun. we joked about his untanned skin tone and i told him that a couple of weeks in florida he will have my skin tone.

try to make it next year, its a great event!:props:

So long as the good lord god gives me the gift of life and the means to pay for it, I will surely be there. Funny thing is I'll be in orlando next month.

Whose gary dean? Did he invent and produce Opt. ONR???

Haha, I don't believe he's with ONR, but he's one of the well-known name in the detailing community.

Search "The Garry Dean Wash Method" on youtube. You'll see the 1 bucket method I was referring to.

Frank mi amigo i was looking for you, i saw andy too. Did you come to detail fest?

Josue, I wasn't able to make it today but I watched some of the classes on the live feed. I'll see you at the next make over.

Great photos to add to anyone's collection, thank for posting! :props:

These are GREAT pics and commentary! I had to laugh at your pic of Dennis Gauge and the huuugggeee line. If I could only grow a cool mustache.... I love that guy!

I think you have summed up much of what this website forum community is all about. You got to see some of the cars we type about. You got to meet the members and the leaders in this industry and got to have a great time. Plus, as someone said earlier, hang out with your son. My Pops got me into cars. Again, great pics and thanks for sharing your day with your Geek family.

So what did Rupes say about your questions?

hello art, the rupe's rep had nothing negative to say about the "washer mod" they had no pros or cons on the mod. frankly, they said it was not needed. i asked larry from ammonyc the same question, seeing that he is an avid rupes user and he said his rupes + washer mod = game over!
when i asked about switching the backing plates on the 21, they said it was ok.. just as long as you dont use it ALL THE TIME. i told them that i normally use the 6'' backing plate with 7'' rupes foam pads for large panels on the car.. and i would switch to the 5'' backing plate to hit the smaller panels. they said it was ok to do that, they asked if i had experience any vibrations with the 5'' backing plate and i said no.. they said thats the only con about using the 5'' backing plate.. so to summarize, they said it was ok, just as long as i dont convert the 21 intoo a 5'' backing plate machine only. i asked larry the same question, and he saids he does it all the time. no problems.

Josue, I wasn't able to make it today but I watched some of the classes on the live feed. I'll see yo u at the next make over.

thats unfortunate frank, its really a great event try to make it out there today, ive also been watching the sunday classes online thru their live feed!

Thanks for sharing!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you. Maybe next year.

had a talk with the rep from optimum.. and he said that for optimum no rinse, theres no need for two buckets.. only one.. and he showed me a video of this.. who knew!?

Explain not needing two buckets.
The rep. you speak of is the owner (or at lest the Gent. That I spoke to).I asked him to join the forum and weigh in on questions concerning their products and procedures.I hope he does.

Wish I knew it was you, help in the Car show, lake Country Booth and also the Blackfire Booth. Maybe next year I can hook up with you there at DF.

hey tim! the guy i spoke to its the same one that i posted a picture of. i hope he does join the forum because quite frankly im not 100% convince on using only one bucket for onr washes.

Nice pictures Josue!

Just to note, Josue is not only a great photographer but he's been a regular lately at our Thursday night open garage projects. Here he is running a rotary buffer with one hand while polishing Bill 1967 Mustang.

It was good to see you and your son having a great time at Detail Fest!
