I want to know what is a good polish and wax I could buy that is good? I know a wax is a sealant and will the polish remove swirls and scratches?

It really depends on your needs wants. An inexpensive yet very good wax is collinite 845. As for polishes, there's an endless list

best bet is to use the search function and read reviews of polishes and waxes. Also check out so of the how to videos.

Menzerna power finish is a good all in one, one step polish that finish good as for wax Collinite #845 is cheap with great results just make sure to add two coats for best results

What are some good brands to buy everything from wash to waxes from?

Ok thank you everyone for the advice! I just need to research a lot. There is a lot of stuff out there that its overwhelming!

Collinite 845 I just put on my second coat my neighbors were like it's going to rain most of the week and your waxing your car? I was like yep can't wait to watch the rain just roll off.

I will have to experiment with that!

I can appreciate when you say " It's a bit overwhelming" So much out there and so many different opinions. The thing that I find very confusing and frustrating is that if you research different brands and products each one will give you the impression that theirs is "The latest and greatest!" Even when you research and read opinions on the forums, you can come away with various opinions on the same product. Based on reviews on detail sites, I have bought quite a few products that really didn't meet my expectations and just sit on the shelf until they get thrown away and who can afford to try every product out there? Good luck my friend...it's tough.

This is the same with just about any products that you dig deep enough into. Every being has different expectations, different scenarios, different applications, all that end up with varied results.

Here is my suggestion. Buy a roll of painters tape, and a bottle of Mothers cleaner wax from you auto parts store.

After your car is spotless, place a piece of tape on your hood. Use the Mothers re's on one side of it, remove the tape, see if it accomplishes what you are trying to achieve.

So true! It's trial and error I guess.

You can't go wrong with a lot of these products any are better than none. Personally I love carpro, Sonax, 1z, Optimum, and Meg's. Each for certain things though. Yes trial and error will bring you much wanted results obviously coupled with a fair dose of research but you do have to dive in eventually.
