Not at all I'm just expanding my horizons a little bit. I actually have several brands of products that I really like a lot!

I use KSG all the time as it's in FrankenDetailer!

So Derek0609 got a new car today and since I was back home visiting it created a perfect storm, 2 Geeks to do new car prep. Once we got the car back to his house he pre-treated the wheels with CG's Diablo and then I busted out the BLEACHE WHITE through the ECO TOUCH sprayer bottle. Speaking of ECO TOUCH Derek did an ECO TOUCH WW. Once that done we used Griots clay to clean the paint and it was surprisingly clean, no sweat there! Next up was the DG's squeaky clean and I applied that to the entire car and Derek followed behind me to remove it, great product as everyone knows!! The final step was the application of DGNCC. Because there was a of us we did an entire section at a time to cut down on the flashing. Now inside the garage, even with his good lighting it looked great, until we got outside and to quote Derek "high spots from HELL". We started to wipe them down and it began to sprinkle so it went back in the garage for a quick wipe down.

The theory of knocking high spots down with the next rinseless wash is something I firmly believe in. Its staying in the garage to properly cure. Its going to be interesting to see the endurance but Derek said he'll end up adding "something" else to the car before winter, time will tell.

TW tire coating will be added tonight or tomorrow so the car will be completely coated 🇯🇵

Looks great. Please keep us up to date. Do you put DGNCC on everything including wheels?

Yes we did, paint, glass and wheels. Also, 1 coat was applied and we'll have to see if Derek decides to apply a and coat and when.

.....stay "tuned".

I got a car back yesterday that I coated a year ago (50 weeks actually). Car is garaged at night, outside during the day washed at 6-8 week intervals over the course of the year. Sheeting was present but degraded pretty bad. Beading was present but also degraded pretty bad. Bonded surface contaminants were slightly less than what I typically see for cars returning after 1 year. I would say that it was time for a recoat. Picture after wash and Decon.

How often is it washed?

Looks pretty good to me. Did you apply a single or double coat? Did you use anything else over the year besides wash?

Single coat. I haven't touched the car in 50 weeks. I know the owner well and I'm certain that she hasn't put anything on it.

It doesn't look bad, but compared to the original beading, it's degraded significantly.

I think it performed well in a 'set it and forget it' scenario. Most people here would want it recoated about now. I'm sure the average owner would still be quite pleased if I had just washed, decon'd and delivered.

Why so long?

So long between washes? She is of the opinion that rain is as good a wash as any. I've advised her more frequent washing a are preferable, but it's not a priority for her.

Why 50 weeks between details? Birthday gift from her fiancé. It's a yearly thing. They drop the car off Friday night, then pick it up late Saturday, she's wearing the same skirt as the night before but barefoot...walk of shame style.

After 1 year and wash every other month, I'd say the beading looks pretty good there :props: Sure would be nice if a coat of AW could be applied when its washed since its outside and not washed so much.

What kind of car is it?

How was the beading after deconning the car? Any improvement?

That picture was after wash and Decon. Pretty weak beading and sheeting on arrival, but it was clear even then that there was some protection left.

***UPDATE***

So I spoke to Derek yesterday and he told me that 99% of the high spots had disappeared the day after, so that was good to hear. In my use of the coatings I've tried this is usually the case and if not, a simple rinseless wash the next day will take care of that, just make sure you've got that 12 hour curing time out of the way to ensure proper bonding.

I'm sure he'll post pics of his car and he, like me, can't leave the paint alone and I told him that if he feels he needs to put "something" on the car to just add another coat of DGNCC, nothing wrong with a 2nd coat of that being applied in good, late summer/early fall temps.

HD Polish took this stuff right off. Now I'm coated with Cquartz. The Enviroshield is still on my dad's Porsche though.
