Coated my tires today and WOW,

Any reason your not using the applicator that came with the kit? I'm still using the same one from my 1st kit, on the 2nd bottle now and yes, gloves ARE A MUST TO WEAR!

I will say this though, the flip top squirter gets clogged VERY quickly, so I just re-used an old black 4 oz bottle with a larger opening and flip top, works great.

Well after using the TW Can, I finally "Coated my Tires".

I applied 3 coats while cleaning and redressing the interior. I was very pleased with the initial results.

It looks like the same product as their trim coating (also an excellent product w/ 7 weeks and counting durability).

I'm about to add another coat on this morning before I hit the road for a carshow. This will cover me for the upcoming Tail of the Dragon trip too, one that will really test out the coating with lots of driving, heat going into the tires and brake dust flying around, LOL!

I just did a rinseless and used the TW tire cleaner to clean them up, no dirt came up but I sprayed them down and scrubbed them anyways. It really helps keeping your car cleanIm the MAN

My original applicator started crumbling so I used a cheapie yellow foam one as noted. I like the TW applicator better no doubt but you can't get a doZen of those for less than two bucks lol
 
Yeah the applicator isn't the key, its the actual product;)

I applied my last coat on these tires this morning, it will take me through the rest of the year and by next year the tires will be replaced anyways. That said, I am lookin forward to applying the TW to my snow tires and "letting it ride":thumbup:

No, my first experience with TW was the can stuff and it was horrible. So I tried their trim coating and loved it, which led to the tire product.

Both products seem to be the same..

I used the can stuff on the wifes tyres and what a pain to get it off.. Had to use a wire brush... After bout hour of work i had it Off... Never again Will i use that..the other turtle wax product is so much better...

Which one, the spray stuff is a pain to remove .... The other that is applied with sponge should be easy to remove with some apc, I'd recommend not ever using the spray can turtle wax tire shine...
 
Not sure about removing it as I apply it so the tires look good and last. That said, if you get it on your wheels wipe if off right away or you'll need to use something stronger to get it off of the edge of the wheel;)

I don't have any pictures to support my claim but it's been probably 3-4 weeks now and honestly on the three cars I have used they all look like the day I put the coating on. One car was two coats. The next two cars went and did three coats. Lasts a lot longer than PERL that I was using. And no browning. Call me impressed. And an OTC product also. I am sold.

And these are all daily drivers, not garage queens. We have had rain storms. Wonder how it will last through the winter.
 
Glad you have the good results most of us do I went from reading threads about Perl and whatever tire shine of the week to using this inexpensive OTC product that just blows it away

I mean the stuff that isn't spray. I already know how hard that is to remove lol
It seems like APC isn't going to do much to the new stuff since it's so durable.
 
I am not sure how to remove it, maybe a brush attachment on a DA with many passes. I tried to remove it on my wife's car like months ago with even goo gone gel and it wouldn't take it off so I just gave up and added another coat instead of stripping it and starting again.
 
Meguiars hot rims doesn't do much to remove it but I have had good luck with Super clean. It is the same thing as purple power.
 
I too am looking forward to seeing how it works during the winter too, well not really because that means its winter, LOL! I will have snow tires soon enough and they'll be coated after I get my car home and clean the tires really, really well.

I thought I read somewhere that it needs to be applied when its "kinda" warm. I know last weekend when it was 35 outside it was 64 down in the garage so I should be ok. I will be applying 3x's and then letting it ride. As much as I'll be tempted I will not re-apply, I really wanna have a true test for the TW tire coating over the winter, as sure all of us do. I know we'll have pics up after a month or two, should be interesting:D

I as well will be cleaning my Michelin winter tires and using the TW. I have the mothers back to black tire cleaner the stuff you spray and wipe off for cleaning duties.
