Well most of you know I just had another surgery, this one was to stop the pain in my left leg/hip.

My doctor wants me to start rehab tomorrow , no more sitting.
He told me to walk as much as I can tolerate but not to a point I begin to feel pain.

We think the surgery was a big success but my leg is very weak, I asked him if I could ride a bike, would it do any good.
He said for a man that just came out of surgery you sure sound like you want to start rehab now, I was LOL and he looked at me and said I'll do fine:)

In 2002 I bought a bike, a bike to ride trails, well I never got to it. Lol
I did take it for a 10 mile ride on the road of course as soon as I got home with it, then put it in my storage building where it sat 12 years.

So today I felt I needed to so something anything but sit and decided to do a full correction on the Huffy. Lol

I did the following.....

Two bucket method using CG's Maxi-Suds with a little APC.
Used the Meguiar's Wheel Brightener to clean up the chrome wheels, using a small brush to get between the spokes.
Used my Nanoskin to remove contaminants.
Compounded the paint using the Wolfgang Uber all done by hand.
Polished the paint and chrome using the 205 by hand.
Applied two coats of Collinite 845 to all of the paint.
Protected the chrome using the Duragloss AW.
Sealed tires, and all other rubber and plastic using the Wolfgang Trim Sealant.

The paint was faded and the chrome was starting to rust some.

Before pictures.

For the most part it looks better , about 85% correction :)

Now the hard part will be to throw my leg over the seat and take it for a ride.
It has 18 gears so it's just a matter of finding the right one for me:)

Thanks for looking :dblthumb2:

The bike looks good I remember cleaning my bike as a kid though don't rush yourself take your time, be safe, and have fun

I'll take it easy, listen to body, when it says stop I'll stop.

My problem is my body never sez start?

Bike looks great, be careful!

Bob :)

Glad to hear the surgery went well. Prayers are with you for a full recovery

It was such a simple detail, fun though.
Right now I can't do big jobs so I'll do even the smallest details:)

Glad you are feeling better and your surgery was a success. I am surprised your Dr said it was cool to go trail riding this soon after surgery

The restoration came out nice :props:

did you tape off the logos and decals?

you did nice work. speedy recovery...

Glad you're on the mend and your surgery was a success! :props:

Starting small and working your way back into main-stream life is the best approach.....in my opinion of course!!

First the tires now this! You're well on your way... Best wishes!

Thanks, for the first time in years I have hope of living a pain free life, just that along makes be happy even right now :)

Baby steps then Man steps:dblthumb2:

Good luck with your rehab. But get another bike, because pedaling a Huffy will just make the pain come back. LOL

Glad you are getting better.

But be careful!

After my back surgery I had an 85% deficit in my left leg and I started riding my Off Road Bike (Stumpjumper) too soon. My left leg fell off the pedal and I fell off the bike on the left side. Luckily there were no cars on the street to squish me so I just got up feeling like an idiot. So don't overdoo.:xyxthumbs:

Oh man that could have turned out really bad for you.
Here I ride while people are at work, even if people are around they respect riders as well as people that walk in the afternoons.
I'm very careful, or will be the more I ride.
