2014 Black VW Jetta

Yup, me too! I like to feel more connected with the whole driving experience.

And here we go. One visit at the dealer and all got fubar !!! Car went to get bumper repainted and this is what they did afterwards , after i told them not to touch it !!!! We washed your car for you !! Damn it !!

Btw the whole car is like that. What the hell do they use ? Scratch pads ?

They probably used a dirty wash rag encrusted with lots of grit from other dirty cars.

One thing I learned this weekend about the black VW paint: Not only is it very hard, but it's also pretty scratch sensitive. After spending all day detailing my black GTI, I noticed a clump of pollen on my car. I wiped it off gently with my finger and ended up marring the paint!

I know , but WOW thats bad. I dont think the car was that bad after whole winter and car washes lol
Ill have to use opticoat or some other coating. Hoping it will stay nice longer
And i have to agree about VW paint

The coatings aren't armor plating. While they may provide a little swirl protection in some cases, I don't think they'd stand up to a dirty wash rag or a tunnel-o-swirls car wash.

Well next time ill put sticker on the window saying "do not touch my paint"
But i hope there be no next time !!!
Well another day to bring it back to its glory
Ill get my skills to perfection with VW paint lol

Nice work! I have a 2013 Plat. Gray TDI. I've mostly used HD polish on a Meg's MF cutting disk. Really nice. VW paint responds very nicely to the MF system when it's needed. Finishes really nice and corrects well!

I have the same car, color and all. I'm curious what wax or sealant are you using? I've got several of the Dodo Juice line and most recently put Purple Haze Pro on it. I was a little disappointed, and good lord does it attract and hold pollen. I'm thinking out putting Pete's 53 on it just to see how that looks. Have you used anything you really like?

When I go to the dealer, which is rare, as I do not want to risk anything and I also enjoy doing oil changes, etc, I ALWAYS put a sign on the dash as well as over the radio. When I check the car in I give them a copy of the sign and make them write 'do not wash' on the work order.

The sign I put in the car reads, 'DO NOT WASH THIS VEHICLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.' I love when the service writer will sometimes ask, "Dont you want your car cleaned up when we return it to you?" Sure, I always want it clean...I just don't want it hacked up. :)

its all in first post
i didn't use any other chemicals, waxes or sealers.

psdnuts,
I'm sorry for the confusion, I have a 2013 gray Passat tdi, the same car as BTLew81, so I was actually asking him what he used on his car. I'm guilty of a bit of a thread high jack, again, I apologize. On a different note, very nice job on the black Jetta. Top shelf work!
