Heading out to Train with Renny Doyle!

Driving to big bear has to be on of the most beautiful drives I have ever seen.

Congrats on making the trip and taking the course. I'd love to be doing that. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Beautiful lay of the land for sure. Enjoy and study hard.:dblthumb2:

Good morning everyone for Sunny Big Bear Lake!

Evan,in this age when it appears you can learn just about anything by just investing some keyboard time, you've chosen to go old school by seeking personal tutelage from a recognized master of the craft.
I congratulate you for making such a substantial investment in time and money to advance your skillset and I'm sure you'll be a better detailer and a better businessman as a result.

Bill

I've been subscribed to this thread but now I am really subscribed lol, keep them coming and of course learning comes first.

Well day one was a blast and had loads of fun no so much detailing work yesterday but a day full of think and expanding my mind. Learning how to get inside the head of a business man and thinking like one. Learning to plan for the future not only in the business but life goals as well.

We talked heavily on marketing and what is simple and works. What ways help bring back customers on a weekly or monthly basis and how to reward customers for referrals.

The later part of the day we went over the Express detail and how it should be properly done and who that detail is aimed for.

I can say I was on information overload yesterday but man did Renny get me thinking in ways I would have never thought of.

Well its day 2 the sun is out and shining and there is much more to learn. :props:

Well day two was a long day full of nothing but interiors. We took a full day to work on them and really put the steamer to use and how to effectively use one on the interior and get nothing but the best results in the shortest amount of time possible.

Every day just has getting better and better. Renny and his wife Diane have made me feel like a part of the family in a hurry and I can say I have received much more than I could have ever asked for when it comes to one on one training.

Well as always the sun is shining here in SoCal already and its time to hit it hard again.

Great to hear you're enjoying that much.

I like the way you share your 'adventures' with the forum, that makes us live a small part of the experience from the distance, in a very enjoyable manner (like it was on your detail fest trip).

Wish you the best from this awesome training you may have with Renny.

And glad to hear they are being so kind and receptive with you. Generally, this may only come by very competent people like himself. They are at the top not just for being good at the work, but for being awesome personalities.

Hope one day I can do the same,

Enjoy!

And keep sharing, please.

Kind Regards.

Today was my last day and I can say I had a blast. I will be sure to get some more details and photos up when possible.

Finally have a night to upload some photos so here we go!!!!!

Just finishing up some last minute things on the Express wash.

Here are some photos of 1935 Packard Limo we had during the week. This was a single stage paint that looks like it was painted about 30-40 years ago. The car at one point was sanded and left to sit for years. Overall the car was in need of some love.

Now it was on to interiors and Diane was there to show the way

Time to attack the carpets:

After photos of the interior:

Renny's Camera guy Rey documenting the work as we go through the week:

Now onto the outside of this truck:

Playing with some new wheel cleaner:

We also had an Audi that needed some love so we washed that too:

Doing some test spots on the Packard:

Now time for a one step to the exterior of the the truck:

Some Headlight restoration is in need:

More testing to get the Packard done:

Outside photos of the Truck:

Now to try and tackle these deep sanding marks but not ruin the paint:

All finished:

Time to attack this factory paint on the Audi and yes there was some bad water etchings in the hood:

Thats all I have folks!

I am now a proud member of the Detail Mafia!

Thanks for looking!

Looks like you had a great learning experience from one of the best congrats.

Congrats buddy, glad you had a good time and hope you learned as much as you could from Renny.

Awesome, you selected many pictures to share, and although great in number, the pictures you chose are great in quality.

I can't say 1 picture I 'moved fast forward' to see next without staring at it, enjoying every detail you tried to capture.

Looks like you enjoyed and learned a lot on this weekend. Congratulations on your choices.

Do you know what orange pad is the one being used on bellow picture?

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards.
