So as the title says ive scratched the flyer idea. I actually feel kinda stupid for even considering it as i didnt even think how people would react to me leaving a flyer on their car.

What ive done is i did something i should have done a while ago and that is make a facebook for my business. Ive added quite a bit of automotive oriented facebook pages from around my area.

So here is my idea and i wanna know what you guys think. I was thinking about sending a private message to the pages ive "liked" basically just introducing my self. Here is what i typed.

How’s it going? My name is Brondon Drapeau and I’m the owner of NO LIMITS MOBILE DETAILING. I wanted to take this time and introduce myself and my company as I will be operating in your area. What my company does is we go to a location of our customers choosing and meticulously detail their vehicle. We are a new company serving the Reno Tahoe and surrounding area but we possess refined skills. I have been detailing for about 8 years now. It wasn’t until Carson City Dodge ruined my paint, and wouldn’t fix it, that I decided to take what I know and turn it into a business. I figured if this has happened to me it has probably happened to others before me and now they are living with the problem. To me that’s not right. This inspired me to take what I know and turn it into a service to help others in the position I was once in.

Now I’ll admit, when I began detailing my own cars, and trust me I’ve had a lot, I had no idea what I was doing. I broke out my pops old buffer and went to town on my 1988 Jeep Cherokee lol. I will say this, the jeep did turn out looking much better but it was not the right way to do things. However, there is a first for everything and my mistakes are what taught me what I know today. Since then I’ve never stopped learning. I’m constantly researching new things and testing new products on my own vehicles before I offer it to my clients. Testing new products out gives me the ability to determine what is the best product for the task at hand.

What my company offers is a top quality automotive cleaning service and nothing less. We are capable of making old cars look better then brand new. But we don’t stop there. We do RVs, trailers, boats, small air craft and basically anything with an engine. I pride myself in what I do and what I know. If others as well as myself didn’t believe in my abilities I wouldn’t have even thought of starting a business in this field. I would have continued a career in CNC machining which is what I went to school for.

So again, I just wanted to let you know who I am and what I do. If you see me or my truck around town don’t hesitate to say hello. I’m a friendly guy who loves to talk cars to anyone who will listen.

My name is Brondon and that “o” isn’t a typo lol. If you have any questions feel free to email me at [email protected] or call or text me at 951-427-0831. You can also check out my website at nolimitsdetailing
Thank you :)

So what do you guys think about it?

I think its a good idea, but I would clean it up a little bit to make it more professional.

I would not point out a specific dealership by name.
I would change "pops old buffer...to my father's old buffer..

I like the text that's under the:
"Welcome" and "About Us" sections...on your web site...
a little byte better.

I'd rather hear that this was being used on FaceBook.
It's: Less discombobulated; Don't you agree?

Bob

Thanks guys. My whole goal here is to be as personable as possible.

OP, Did u make the website urself?
I always wanted a website, but idk how to make one =(

That introduction is 471 words long

Grab a watch with a second hand and have someone read it to you out loud. How long did that take?

No one who does not already know you personally will read more than 30 words.

Your objective should be to engage them with a brief statement and four photos of your work. I would suggest one of paint and one of interior.

If they reply or "Like", then you can re-engage and go into more detail

I sponsor a local truck forum for my area. If I would have introduced myself like that it would have been a huge turn off for the a majority of the members.

- wayyyy to long
- no personal connection
- you sound like a huge corporate detailing company
- sounds like a machine
- what did you offer them? why should they even consider replying? All you did was explain what you do, said say hi if you see me, and said bye. There was no engagement with the audience

What kind of automotive oriented groups are they? Did you browse around there old posts/discussions to see how they talk? Did you see there pictures to see what they laugh/care about?

This is what I would do (generally speaking w/o analyzing the group).. Post on their timeline with a photo of your logo: 'Whats up fellas! Can someone point out the admin to this group? Im a mobile detailer and would like to introduce myself. I'd like to work some type of group buy of some sort for paint correction. Let me know!"

I'd reccomend a few website builders out there, including Wix, Snappages, and Squarespace. They're cheap and very good, and you don't need to know how to code - but you can add your own code if you want.

St Louis Missouri Auto Detailing - Impact Detailing STL

I built that in about 15 minutes, and it's free unless I want to purchase my own domain, which I plan on doing. You won't be disappointed! :xyxthumbs:

Agreed on your wording being way too long. Should not take more than thirty seconds to say what you want to say about yourself. Read it and time it. No longer than that.

Yeah I'm not going with this idea either. I've decided to just go to the business and speak with the owner face to face to introduce my self.

Get a website so your work and do great work customers will come. I've said this way to many times business does not come over night it takes a long time to build a strong customer base in detailing taking me a few years to be booked out 6+ weeks. Get great reviews will help a lot and a website. Gimmicks don't work most people don't trust Detailers cause there are so many hacks out there.

I have a website, Facebook, business cards, shirts, and all that. I was just brain storming.
