I tried to take more pictures, they didnt really come out that great so Im posting what ive got. Used Zaino Car Wash then Mothers Clay bar. There were some swirls in the paint and before I applied a 3 year coating I figured I may as well get those out. Then applied the Diamond coating.

Pros: Diamond Coating its self was a breeze to put on and makes my paint feel slick as anything Ive ever felt.

Cons: The Surface Cleansing Polish you need to use prior stains rubber and trim and flakes EVERYWHERE.

Anyhow Tell me what you think!

Thanks Again to Mike Phillips for Teaching me good techniques using the Porter Cable 7424XP!!

Looks great! How long did it take you to do all of that?

Started at 8am Yesterday and left it to cure at around 7pm. Still have to put a final coating of Zaino over the Cured Diamond Coating today. Truck is somewhat large and I am somewhat OCD, Im sure it could have been done faster, also I did the black wheels in diamond coat. Took a few breaks and left for lunch with the gf for about an hour or so.

Awesome mate, you definitively kicked swirls *ss kkkkk

Beautiful!

Thanks for sharing,

Kind Regards.

Excellent work Nick!

It sounds like you either applied the polish too heavily, worked in in too long, or both. Surface Cleansing Polish is a non-abrasive polish that's simply designed to rid the paint of oils, fillers, and previously applied waxes, so there's no need to treat it like you would an abrasive polish (high speed, firm pressure, etc).

A soft foam finishing or a light polishing pad, minimal pressure, and a couple passes is all that's required to prep the surface for the coating. :dblthumb2:

Here's a great post made by Tuscarora Dave in this thread: is it really necessary to tape off before polishing/waxing?

Tuscarora Dave said:
It takes less time to tape off trim than it does to clean up trim at the end of the job so if there is trim that looks like it will be polished over by accident then I tape it off to save time.

If using a rotary I'll tape off any trim that can be damaged by a spinning pad on a rotary which is pretty much any trim. I have a very steady hand while using my rotary and sometimes don't tape off trim when I'm rushed for time but unexpected mistakes can happen even with the most skilled of rotary users so tape is good insurance for not getting bit by the rotary. All it takes is one quick slip and OUCH!!! it's too late.

I know you're using a DA and Poli-Seal doesn't stain trim but it does shine trim and a finished detail with shiny spots all over the trim work doesn't look so good and there's still the clean up factor. Time is money, tape is money, figure out which costs less and go with it.

I used a black finishing pad on speed 4/5 and made two section passes. I did a section and wiped a section off, by the time I went to use the buffer again it was dried on the pad and started spitting flakes. I dunno what I did wrong. Lol

My best guess would be too much product.

The truck turned out great regardless! Im the MAN

Looks awesome! Next time I suggest turning down the speed to 2 on ur PC when applying the cleansing polish. In addition, with PBL cleansing polishing a little goes a long way. Once again ur Ram looks fantastic :dblthumb2:

I tried it at first on 2 but the pad wasn't spinning. It didn't spin untill 4/5... Dunno why

What do you all recommend for putting on the dash board to protect from sun?? I don't want it greasy and shiney though.

I used a crimson hydro tech or red CCS pad when I use a machine for the paint prep, usually around speed 2 but I am also doing it with a flex so no worries of pad stopping.
