Mini Detail:

When Denzil brought me his Mini in preperation for a sound show , I noticed that the interior was pretty clean. The exterior on the other hand had imperfections. The car had overspray ( white AND black ) , BAD swirl marks as you will see in the pictures aswell as a mark on the driver door ( Denzil confirmed that it was tape that they used to hold something on the inside while waiting for glue to dry )

Thursday I started by cleaning out the interior. Cleaning a clean interior is difficult as ANY dust particle left behind will be spotted. Spent around 3 hours cleaning and dressing the interior. Leaving everything with a dull clean look instead of a cheap shiney look. Thereafter I washed the wheels , wheelarches aswell as the car and engine bay. I then clayed the car for about 4 hours untill all the overspray and other contamination was off.

Friday I started with a wash to get rid of overnight dust and then got the polisher out. I was suprised to find that the clearcoat wasn't too hard , this made the paint correction easier than your typical VAG car. After correcting the bonnet I noted that it did finnish a little hazy so I had to follow up with a lighter polish to get the reflection crisp and clear ( thanx alot to Naeem from Absolu Car Care in this topic ). After the Polish I applied Menzerna Powerlock and finished off by dressing all the trims on the car. I then took the car out for a few pictures. Normally red is a very hard colour to take decent pictures of , but with this Mini I did not struggle too much. After the pictures was taken I pulled the car in the garage as it would only go home the next morning ( or to the sound show rather ).

Saturday morning I was up at 5.30am as we arranged to hand back the car at 7am. At 6am I pulled the car out giving it a final wipedown , vacuum the interior again , clean windows etc etc. Finished off at 6.57am just in time for Denzil to collect his car.

Pretty sure he was blown away when he felt the paintwork afterwards. Had fun detailing this Mini and I must say , it does look pretty decent now !!

Thanx for watching :hi:

Very nice job my friend.

I liked the fact you had the pleasure to polish black and red paint at once, have you noticed any difference in 'hardness' while working on them?

Thanks for sharing,

Kind Regards.

Nice turnaround! Looking good.

The last picture and comment cracks me up!

Thanks Mike. Upon arrival I thought the car was lowered when I saw it from the rear. That was untill I saw the front Im the MAN I knew it could only be the heavy sound install causing that

Thank you.

I noticed the Gloss Black roof and pillars , corrected easier than the red paint. Although they weren't as badly damaged as the paint itsself , I was able to correct them using Menz PF2500 whereas I used Menz FG400 for the paint
