Ive been throwing around the idea of starting a fixed location in addition to my 2 mobile units. The guy who runs my other truck has been with me 2 years and does awesome work, and I have another guy that can run my 2nd truck.
So I've been thinking about trying to find a fixed location. Maybe a gas station to offer "basic washes" to my detail customers? I don't really think I need a garage type detail shop yet. I have a 2 car garage that is "man cave'esque" for my mustang that I detail some higher end cars in.
My question is how and who do you approach about opening one at a gas station? What type of return do they typically expect? And what types of permits do you reckon I may need for a fixed location? For mobile, all you need in Florida is a business license or incorporation and a home office license.
The only perk to a garage is I can get a really nice 4-6 car garage with a lift for dirt cheap and possibly rent out half of it to a mechanic or audio install guy and also have a place to build my detailing trailers and skids.
This is a critical time in my business life as I'm going "all in" essentially (or so it seems). Any advice is greatly appreciated.
