Epic Detail Weekend

If you have to replace it I would suggest you consider a Rupes, seriously changed my opinion of one after using one at our Chicagoland Detail Day. I guess I let the on and on and on and ON threads about it get in the way but it really does awesome work, combined with these prototype (?) pads we got to try, simply crushed it!

I would consider that, but
1. I think it's an easy fix, and
2. I JUST bought new pads and a new backing plate for it, so I'd like to stick to the Flex route for now.

Any & All. You seemed surprised by that?

Well yeah, not taking anything away from Monica and her handy work but I'm sure someone who writes books, does vids and hosts a huge event every year is probably just a "tad" more experienced, not to mention is on TV and is very professional. Ones sex has nothing to do with it, if your the best your the best, male or female.

Weather or not Monica is on T.V., has a shop, teaches people or details while she's drunk. She did a fantastic job on that mini.

Way to go Mon

No offense to Mike, but I have more hands on experience then he does. I do this on a daily basis and have for the past 32 years. Mike can't claim that. He does 1 or 2 cars a week at best. I have that done by Tuesday

:)

Let's not get too off track and take away from the obvious message that needs to be stated, and that is that Monica's car looks fantastic and represents Class A work. (Personally, I'm quite envious that mine doesn't look like that!)

Let's also remember that numbers and years of experience do not necessarily translate to quality. As a surgeon, I've seen plenty of people who have been operated on by very "seasoned" (i.e, older) and "experienced" surgeons who just didn't have anything good done to them.

As they say, the proof of the pudding is in eating: Nice job, Monica!

Yes, let's all stay on track.
I appreciate everyone's compliments... I started really looking into detailing maybe 2 years ago? I feel like since I've been on this forum, I've made my way to the next level.
Do I need to learn more? Absolutely.
But I'm very happy with what I have accomplished to this point :xyxthumbs:

And I was very happy to share my crazy detail weekend with those of you that share my insanity :righton:

Sorry to get off track, its what I do here sometimes, LOL! One thing I learned here besides Monica really loves here MINI is that infact a man can properly function after removing a couple ribs, LOL!

My apologies as well. After posting I realized what I said probably can across a little harsh. It was a long hot frustrating day here in the big M Town.
When I first found the forums Mike Phillips was the only name I had heard of (and that was before the internet). I can guarantee you he had never heard of me. Mike has educated the consumer (at least the ones who have researched the subject) far greater then I ever could. For that I am forever grateful

Having said all that. If I had to hire one of the two it would still be Monica. Not only do I think she has what it takes, she's much easier on the eye

My apologies to Monica and ALL of the rest of you for my behavior

And I finally drive him to work today... nice to be back in the seat.

Hmmm...Hours of work getting any and all blemishes removed (cosmetic surgery)

Take something that is already beautiful and put hundreds of dollars of product on it to make it look it's absolute best (makeup)

We know cars need a lot of TLC...and high maintenance.

I'm just wondering why you would call it a "HIM" lol

Wonderful work, not only an Epic weekend but you achieved Epic popularity on this thread. Awesome results, I enjoyed a lot following up your work.

Please, keep coming with more!

Thanks for sharing,

Kind Regards.

Wow I missed quite a bit since I checked this thread last! Excellent work on "Lil Mo"! Here's hoping he stays that way!

Hey DKB (Detail Kitty Bro) :D

If I fly out to PA for your AGO meet up this time, maybe you could teach my how to drive stick shift. (Don't know how lol) So I won't be granny shifting and I can double clutch like I'm supposed to, you seem like those fast racer people

I am however getting another camera in the next few weeks, so while I might not take my detailing gear. I could take my camera equipment. I do have a GoPro, but I have to call customer service for it. Probably shouldn't have bought it from a guy that said it fell out of a truck when he sold it to me.

You did a great job, not sure if I already said that lol. Ehh another time won't hurt.

Maybe I can take a syringe of opti coat to PA, might look suspicious though taking a large syringe with clear liquids on a plane. Idk :dunno:

PA seems cold though, I guess I'll just pack double socks lol
