What removes dried on ONR? I put CQuartz on my car about a month ago. A few days ago I wiped off some spots/road grime off my hood and front end with a water/ONR mixture but didn't remove the left over ONR. Apparently it had some kind of reaction with CQuartz and made this sticky sap like concoction or its just the ONR but I kind of doubt it. I've tried to remove it with alcohol, APC, and clay without any success. Reload removes some of it but I have to rub it so hard its already put scratches in the paint. I'm out of town so don't have all my supples. Scratch X actually removes some of it but it still looks really bad (no its not my scratch X!!!). What else can I do besides re-polish?

I hate to say it but you may have to get the polisher out. Coatings are a love-hate thing.

Love em when the stars all line up and things go as planned...hate em once they have hardened and you find yourself polishing again to fix or correct because something goes wrong or unexpected happens.

Sealants and waxes are so much more forgiving. There's a price to pay for semi permanent products when the stars don't quite line up, and being relatively "new" to the scene, there is much yet to learn about them long term and what things play well (or don't play well) with them.

Great quote i couldn't have said it better. so true

I would try some WD40 on the affected area (think test spot first). If that doesn't help at all then move to polishing the area and re-Cquartz.

I've been using Goof Off for a lot of odds and ends lately. Maybe give it a try? I've coated many vehicles with CQ coatings but have never had an issue such as yours. I only use ONR as a clay lube though. I only do regular washes with mild car shampoo.

So using ONR, spraying it on and not removing it, caused you to have a sap like substance on your hood? What was your prep prior to cq?

If it is ONR that caused this, why not try and use ONR to remove it. It is the Like removes Like formula.

So I would reason the panel in ONR mixture and then actually wipe everything off like you would a rinseless wash. Leaving chemical mixtures to dry on paint really isn't wise.

ONR turned to something like sap on CQ? What? Am I the only one wondering what is going on here?

Sap isn't quite the right description... Its like a waxy glue like substance. Sounds crazy to me too but thats what it did.
