It was finally time to put all my research and hard work into play. I coated my 2013 Ram 1500 Crew Cab SLT 4x4 V8 Hemi with Cquartz UK. I want to thank everyone on here for there constant advice and guidance. I visit this site daily and learn something new everyday. Also would like to thank Avi from Carpro for emailing with me on some specific Cquartz UK questions as well as Mark from Birmingham Auto Detailing for also speaking to me on the side and giving me some great advice.

The truck was in good condition before with just a few scratches or light marring.
Even the spot where I hit my house was barely noticeable (therefore no befores).

I took last Friday off from work and did the work at my Brother in Laws house as he has a garage. Start Time 8AM, End time 8PM. Return Sunday to pickup, took another 3 hrs,

Total Time: 15 Hours

CQuartz UK 2014 Version

Everything went pretty well, except when I was about 1/3 to 1/2 done correcting my truck and the stem on my GG6 snapped(i was p*ssed, yet knew I would be getting a new one as they have a great return policy, more annoyed because i stripped the paint and now couldnt fully correct it) I had to make a choice, not coat or coat. I chose to coat. The prior weekend I had done some light correction to give the GG6 some practive and did some correction with CarPro Reflect. I was primarily using CarPro Fixer on a Pink Pad, the Orange Pad was not necessary except for a few random spots.

I was going to put Gtechniq Glass Coating on the windows but I was running out of time as I had to leave, so I put Cquark UK on all windows. Next time, I would not put it on the windshield as there is some chatter, but the other windows it is nice. I put reload on my panel and it was all hazy. I parked it in the garage and returned Sunday. The gloss and reflectiveness was very impressive. I did have some high spots. I did a full wipe down with Eraser and then applied Reload. I also knocked down some high spots with simple green and Eraser.

Overall I like the Cquartz UK. I am washing my truck tomorrow, so it has been over 7 days without a wash. I work at a shipping pier so usually my truck is covered in dirt, truck grime, etc but surprisingly, its not that dirty. Just some pollen but not as much.

See pics, thanks for taking the time to read and review.

Really nice work Mike! You've got some great reflection shots. How did you like Fixer/Reflect combo? I'm getting ready to UK my mustang here hopefully next weekend...

281- Thank you very much.

I didn't get to do a 2 step as I found the fixer on a Pink Pad on a well maintained DD finished nicely enough. The prior weekend I had used Reflect on a White Pad and it got out the light stuff and cleaned the paint very well. If I was to do it again, I would of done Pink Pad with Fixer then followed up with either white or green pad with Reflect. Reflect seems to dust a little, but over they are both great. Wipe off is very easy. Working time seems just right, and lastly its what the manufacturers recommends prior to CQUK, so its a win win all around.

I used Reflect once on a buddy's Benz and it was pretty amazing. I too am going with CarPro's recommendation - Fixer/Reflect prior to UK. I have to remove the PBL coating first so we'll see. Are you gonna wash with Reset soap?

Ok cool, and good luck on removing the PBL>

Right now, no on the reset. But yes I am thinking towards the end of the summer I will need it. For now I am going to use Megs D111, only because I somewhat recently ago had purchased a gallon of it. If I notice it starts to impede the visual and physicial ability of the coating then I will invest in reset sooner rather than later, r u?

Side note PBL is a great coating! I just really wanna try UK. Yup the plan is to use Reset for washes & IronX Snow semi-annually if needed.

I'm curious to see what Synergy over the top of UK will produce...

Wow I bet that was a lot of work. Very few trucks look that good. Fabulous job.

i am getting ready to tackle my crew cab silverado this coming weekend. i was at a recent cars and coffee event and somebody decided to open up their car door and leave some of their paint on my truck. it was due for a good cleaning.

really like the finished product, i have yet to try the CQUK, but it looks like im going to have to

Great looking Ram Mike. I have a bottle of Reflect sitting in my cabinet. I can't wait to give it a try.
