I was cleaning my sister's vehicle and she a two kids. The carpets were very bad and I couldn't get up the sticky candy hard stains. How should I go about getting it out and getting the carpet looking great? What products and tools should I use?

Hairspray on the sticky candy may work, then go for the basic cleaning on the carpeting. You can either use Folex, an APC at a high dilution or an AGO product dedicated for this type of stuff. Depending on the amount of soiling you may need an extractor (got mine for $60) and multiple passes.

How about trying steam to soften and remove the stickiness then use folex, stiff brush and extractor to clean the rest of the carpet

I will try those tips you both gave me and see what I come up with how much is an extractor and what brand is good?

Which extractor you got?

WeatherTech Floor Liners will pay for themselves. I know they don't help you clean the carpets now but they will prevent this kind of thing from happening again. I don't know how parents live without them!

With candy I usually put a towel over it and then a regular old iron on HIGH steam. Towel soaks the candy in when the iron softens it.

That's a great tip!

I've completely forgotten about even using the 'steam setting' on an iron.

Thanx!

Bill

A steamer would of course be more convenient but in a pinch this works AWESOME.
