I'm wanting to get into detailing as a side business/hobby mainly for extra cash. What do you guys charge from a simple wash and interior to a wash, wheels and tires, complete interior and and swirls removed and waxed?
I'm just looking to what to charge people. And if you could can you break it down for me on your steps you take and products and time. I appreciate it.

There are hundreds of threads on the forum dealing with everything you just asked.

As far as what to charge...

Do a google search on detailers in your area. If they have a website with prices listed and pictures of their work you can get an idea of what your market will support.

Between $150-$5,000 depending on what's needed and time. All by the hour.

I appreciate the advice I will check out my local market and see what they are charging.

A good starting point is to call all local detailers. Write down their prices.

Average out prices.

Put yourself 10%+ over their prices.

See how much price resistance you have. If less than 20% resist price, you are golden.

Thank you! I appreciate the advice!

I resort to what i call "The Three C's"

1. Car
2. Color
3. Condition

From there you can pick the right package for the customer, and know exactly what service needs to be performed

Set yourself a reasonable hourly rate and do not sell yourself short. Detailing is hard work.

I was thinking of doing $40/hr is that reasonable? I will ask the costumer what they want done and tell them approximately how long it will take given the condition of the vehicle and how large the vehicle is. Does that sound fair?
