I had some stains on the armrest in my car, I used Blue Coral Upholstery Cleaner on it to remove the stains.

(ive used this numerous times before on the seats and never had a problem)

I used it yesterday afternoon (left the car with the windows up overnight), and drove it to work today, car got hot but this spot was not in direct sunlight.

I'm not sure if i should try to leave it in the sun because it may not be dry ? (feels dry to the touch)
or possibly try to clean it with just water?

or if something went wrong and it stained for some reason ?

picture attached, any suggestions would be great

Did you vacuum the spot or just blot with a towel? I have found with out spraying some water and extracting it just spreads the dirt out. I would spray again, agitate, blot excess, spray some water and vacuum, and lastly wipe again with a clean towel and let dry. You may want to try the blue corral spot treatment on it. The foam does well with light dirt but spots it didn't work too well when I used it. Now I just use a mild APC and brush, which is another way to do it.

originally i just blotted with a towel and didnt vacuum. just finished the process you listed.
wondering if i should park out in the sun so itll dry up faster, considering it still seems pretty wet after vacuuming

It won't hurt to leave it in the sun. It may fell a little stiff when dry but a simple once over with a brush will soften it up.

I'd most likely hit those spots with Folex, available at my local Lowes. Spray on, agitate it with a soft bristled brush and blot dry. After spot cleaning, i would probably do the entire armrest as it looks like a small area. That lets me see the entire area cleaned and no "clean" spots to contrast with the rest of the material.
