BMW Experts! - Is this a rare BMW?

No CSLs on Beamers, I was thinking either plain 635 or 635i. Had a 325i in 86.

My parents owned a high end dealership when sub leasing was legal way back when. They had that same BMW and same color with white sheep skin seats and carpet that they took to a car show and won second place "best in show". I'll try and look for a picture tomorrow and post it. Very cool car.

If you want one I have 2 for sale =) one euro spec black m6 and US spec red m6

The original M6 is pretty rare, especially when you consider they cost $57K back in the mid 80's!

My friends dad had one when I was in high school very cool car!

I think they definitely meet the criteria and count as rare. German cars from the 80s and earlier have really seen a dramatic appreciation in value too the past couple years, so the market seems to be coming around. Who knows if that is a continuing trend or a bubble. But I own them because I like them.

I'm more fond of the 6 series four-door brother, the E28 generation 5 series. The sedans have better headroom and ergonomics for a taller driver :)

My E28 M5 was made in much fewer numbers, about 1/3rd that of total M635csi/M6 production. And the sedans were really driven by their owners, there are many with 200-300K miles so market speculation has made lower mileage ones fairly pricey relative to the past.

For both cars there are fairly active enthusiasts communities online.
